Was the siege of the mountain top city of Raynis (think of a flat mountaintop landscape like the grand-canyon where one of the masses has a kingdom on top). For months, the Violet Army lay siege to the kingdom to no avail. The city's strategic position and walls proved too overwhelming for even the toughest armies. The siege lasted for a week, with the victory belonging to the defending city. Causes Considered the only truly impenetrable city on the continent. Points With news that the imminemt Violet Army approaching, Lord Gyon brings the news to his people. He brings them the truth into why the Violet Army approaches. The people and army rallied behind him to defend his name, as they remembered the good deeds he has brought to the city. He had shaped the city into a sprawling metropolis of wonder. The Violet Army approaches the mouth of the valley that surrounds the mountain in which Raynis sits on top. The Army splinters into three groups and move towards the only way into the city—a pathway that scales the mountain. The main splinter follows this path, while the remaining two smaller factions position themselves at two different points to defend in case of a flanking attacking from returning armies belonging to Raynis or other enemy forces. While scouts advance in order to find and observe any changes in the scenery. In the name of King Rvanis, Lord Commander Vareenkir demanded the Kingdom of Raynis to lower its gates and swords and swear fealty to King Rvanis, for the crimes Lord Gyon had committed (the city is not ruled by any king, nor it belong to any kingdom). The people, who loved their dear Lord, insist the crime that Lord Gyon had committed, was no crime, and that they and the loyal army shall protect Lord Gyon. As they couldn't think of anything worse than being under Violet-rule. With no room to bring their mammoth siege weapons up the path, the siege weapons are useless as they were not in firing range. The only siege weapons brought to the gates were the battering rams, and scorpions, and compact-catapaults that flung explosives. But no matter what they brought, the narrow pathway turned the Violet Army into nothing more than a trickle against the gates, it was no match against the tide of the defending Raynis army. By the end of the week, after much slaughter instigated by an infuriated and tantrum-throwing King Rvanis, who commanded Lord Commander Vareenkir to send his troops to pretty much die against the gate. With no more than 30% of his army remaining, Lord Commander Vareenkir, defied King Rvanis' orders and retreated, leading his army into a trap led by Raynis Commander Kolm. Involved Lord Commander Vareenkir, in the name of King Rvanis, of Violet Kingdom. Lord Gyon of Raynis, the Mountain-top Kingdom. Commander Kolm of Raynis, who led the sweep in the rear. Outcome The battle was deemed fruitless and pointless, nothing more than to serve the ego of King Rvanis. Not only that but the exhausted Violet Army retreated into a trap led by Commander Kolm. King Rvanis not only lost a large portion of his entire Violet Army, but his top and prized commanders too. Opening in a vulnerability of the Violet Army. The ego-tism tied up in the bloody and pointless battle infuriated many in his council, and his people, especially those who were sons and friends of those fallen. It is believed this drove many to bring a revolt and rebellion. Ending King Rvanis' 23 year rule, and bringing the dawn of the Baservk Dynasty.
