Violet Lightner aka Armory
A orphaned young woman who felt she had nothing left to live for, Violet threw herself off of a bridge, hoping to kill herself. Instead, an alien weapon lurched from the watery depths and latched onto her left arm, saving her life.
Inspired, she used the weapon to fight crime and help others, which earned the attention of the Avengers.
Recruited by the Avengers into their Initiative program, she began to hone her skills with other teenage superheroes. However, her fellow hero Trauma sensed her phobia of spiders and accidentally turned into a gigantic spider, sending her into shock and she began firing her weapon everywhere, causing the 'death' of a teammate. This earned her expulsion from the program and her being sent home.
