switcheroo!
Shizuo Heiwajima was born the son of a daimyo during the Tokukawa shogunate. Strong, quiet, and passionately devoted to justice, Shizuo would have been perfectly fitted for the life of a samurai- were it not for his horrible temper.
During an uprising in his father’s domain, Shizuo was stabbed in the stomach and left for dead. In the night, as he tried helplessly to crawl back to his father’s castle, a vampire found him, took pity on the dying young man, and turned him.
In death, Shizuo gained an insatiable bloodlust, cold and pallid skin, and the strength of a hundred men. Upon realising what had happened to him, he fled, so as not to endanger his family. He became a ronin, disguising his face and his voice, and using his training to work for whoever’d pay him. He travelled this way for centuries, and to this day, he thinks of himself as a ronin.
Shizuo is currently one of seven vampires living in Tokyo, Japan. He works as a bodyguard for an eccentric agoraphobic tycoon, where he won’t have to expose his skin to sunlight. He has a longstanding rivalry with Izaya Orihara, the Volturi liason in Tokyo, and the two men often clash. When they meet, cars tend to be thrown.
