Viral Interventions: Final Proposal

In this proposal, we wanted to use a sunflower field to portray our message using trumpets and a banner to show it off to passing cars. We want to keep the horror/arg aesthetic, so that it shows that there is a hidden message behind what we're doing. Throughout our proposals, we experimented with different ideas but none ended up sticking out except this idea with the sunflower field. A majority of the class ended up really enjoying this idea, so we went with it snd started created a timeline and budget. After this, we began working on our viral interventions project.

Statement of Intent: For our final project, we plan to create an installation that explores transformation and the potential for growth in adversity. Using a combination of digital projections and reclaimed materials, the artwork will represent the contrast between chaos and resolution. The interactive design invites viewers to navigate through the installation, encouraging personal interpretations of the journey from struggle to discovery. Our process will involve research, material experimentation, and collaborative problem-solving, with the aim of creating an engaging and thought-provoking piece. By blending technology and physical elements, we hope to challenge conventional boundaries of art while reflecting on resilience and innovation.

Final Proposal

humility vs pride

Our project centers on a playful yet insightful exploration of humility and pride through a public performance filmed in pajamas. Initially set in a bank, we'll portray humble behaviors amidst the formal setting, juxtaposing the serious atmosphere with our relaxed attire. Through this, we aim to convey the contrast between genuine humility and the ostentation of pride. Utilizing props like a mug and a heart, we'll symbolize the theme of "cure" and accentuate the message further. Our film will blend various clips showcasing acts of both humility and pride, highlighting the transformative power of humility in humbling pride. The choice of pajamas symbolizes sincerity over superficiality, emphasizing the essence of true humility.

Viral Interventions: Final Proposal

For our final proposal, we'll create eight moons representing different emotions, starting from stillness and ending in anxiety. Each moon will have a face showing a progression of emotions like happy, excited, scared, and worried. We'll assign colors to each emotion and lay them out for the public to see. During our presentation, people can use mica powder to draw on the moons. We'll observe how they interact with each emotion. We chose mica powder for its natural texture, resembling the dusty surface of the moon. Our goal is to understand how people express themselves through art and emotions, creating a unique experience for both us and the audience alike.

VIRAL INTERVENTIONS: FINAL PROPOSAL

For this final proposal, we plan on cutting out 8 circles that represent the moon and implementing different emotions onto them. First, we would cut out circles from pieces of cupboard and then cover them with white paint. Next, we will draw or paint different emotions on the cupboard pieces. On the day of the public presentation, we plan on placing the pieces of the cupboard on the floor so people could come up to us and paint how they feel about the eclipse using Mica Powder . After that, we will hang each 8 circles onto the wall with elastic and place them in a form of rotation to represent the 8 phases of the moon.
