We went treasure hunting again today! Found nothing whole, but found this glass piece of bottle from 1868, a giant blue sarsaparilla bottle, An old Levi Strauss jeans rivet, the harp to an old harmonica, a few old Chinese pottery shards and tons of square nails. We found Vireo a new house, and a rock that has been in an explosion. We finished up the day with Shrinky Dinks. I keep thinking "This is it! The last nice warm afternoon of Fall!" and then another day rolls around and it's still warm. Half an inch of rain is forecasted tomorrow however. ITS BLACKBERRY SEASON! We are so thankful to have them right along our ditch. The perfect way to stay cool on this 100° + day. We washed them up, made an oatmeal crisp and now are running down to the river. Most of it is dried up except for our swimming hole. While it's mostly too gross to swim in, the kids are determined to save the fish in there. We'll see if we can't relocate them to a part of the river that is running.
