Bears Hire New GM

     Early today, the Chicago Bears announced the hiring of a new GM. Phil Emery will be introduced at a press conference on Monday. Oh, that bad smelling breeze you just felt was all of Chicago yawning in boredom. No one knows who Phil Emery is and the best most Bears fans can say of him is that he is, at least, NOT Jerry Angelo.

     I don't know about you, but if the most you can say about someone is that they aren't someone else...well, it's a stunning display of logic and probably damning with faint praise. It would be pretty hard to draft worse than Jerry Angelo has for the Chicago Bears. The team is being propped up by an aging defense and one single brilliant move for Jay Cutler (who was juuuust starting to wow before he got his hand broken for being to tough on field).

    But hey, let's be real. The real power behind Da Bears is one Lovie Lee Smith (the head coach). He has the love and support of Virginia McCaskey (principle owner and very old woman), and it was made clear by team president Ted Phillips (good money maker, know-nothing-about-footballer) that whoever the new GM was going to be, he had to get along with Lovie Smith. Because that's how great football organizations are run. The head coach always has input with regard to the hiring of his direct superior.
