A fun ride with Uggo in the Destino

Autumn colours.
At home, chatting with E.
Dex joined me for a run in the new Destino motor launch that I bought on Monday. We were cruising down the channel towards the Blake Sea, when we noticed that Titus was at home AND had bought a Destino as well. We doubled back to park alongside him while he was finishing off his modifications and we all had a chat and some champagne.
The boat has classic lines, but is up to the minute as it is powered by two Z drive pods, which make it extremely manoeuvrable.
As you can see, Titus has customised his rather more than I have and has given it a name. I’ve decided on a name for mine too - Sea Fever - the name of John Masefield’s famous poem, which itself was reproduced recently in the ‘Where the Wind Blows’ blog.
We all went for a quick run to Siren’s Isle and, when Titus had to go to RL, Dex and I returned to Vindar in my boat.
So I was loitering at the Rainbow Sails Yacht Club at Vindar, when suddenly I noticed a beautiful launch (I think owned by Karfunkel) pulling into the harbour. I hadn’t seen anything like it, but on closer examination I saw it was made by The Mesh Shop. Quick as a flash I was at Dutch Harbor and there it was: the Destino. I was immediately enchanted by her seductive lines and had to take a test drive. Unfortunately the SL gods were not kind and I ended up on the bottom after only a couple of crossings.
Not to be put off, the next evening I returned, drawn by her siren call. Naturally I bought her and was busy setting up when Titus arrived at the yacht club and we went for a run down to St Martin. Leaving there, I handed over to Titus so he could try her out while I took some pictures. Finally, we returned to Vindar and RL called us both away.
Moving forward to 5 September, my friend Tom came to visit so he could show me his new speedboat from The Mesh Shop. He very kindly did not travel too fast and we had a nice run around Second Norway testing it out. The picture shows us setting out from our marina at Vik.
After Tom left, Dex showed up and took me for a pleasant sail in his Ushuaia, which he has repainted to match the colours of the Greek flag.
Monday... and I felt the Earth shift on its axis,,, Titus has bought a stink boat! I have to admit though it is pretty awesome.
Titus took Grego and me for a run to Siren’s Isle where we soaked up some rays for a while before heading home. Nice purchase T; and nice to have a billionaire friend...
After all our hard work flight testing, Dex and I flew back to Frasier Island and then took a kayak to his place. You can see we need some practice, but we got it together and luckily it was not far.
Always a pleasant run in my Boss 225.
