Activism accessible to all.
I can’t make it to any of the nearby sister marches on the 21st, not because of my own disabilities but because of my son’s. His dad will be at work and his grandparents are out of town right now, and because of his sensory processing issues he doesn’t do well in large, noisy crowds, so I can’t take him. I thought I wouldn’t be able to participate in the virtual march, either, as it is not because of my own disabilities that I am unable to attend. However, they don’t gatekeep. You just explain why you’re joining the Disability March. I’m gonna cry, y’all. This is what accessibility looks like.
