Self Care For People of Color After Psychological Trauma

I love Black people. I love us so much. I have so many friends who work in the anti-racist space. I worry for our wellbeing when we are inundated with racism. Continuing to engage in confronting racism in the online space can mean taking a risk with your brain and psychological wellbeing.

It’s been a bit since updating, and I do apologize. Other issues in my life have taken quite a bit of priority.

That said, today’s issue of what really grinds my gears is knowing that a Neighborhood Council member has such a disgraceful and unsympathetic attitude towards homeless people.

To that end, I decided to request a meeting with the Los Angeles City Council member for my district, regarding some solutions to the homeless problem. Homelessness is an issue I’m very passionate about and since Los Angeles is throwing millions of dollars at the problem, I may as well make some viable suggestions that are based on successful business models implemented in Northern California. I requested the meeting for June so that I have time to provide a full report and proposal for this. 

...now... I need to invest in a well-fitting suit.

March Update

First, I lost connection to Hang w/, then my phone died. Apologies for not broadcasting here. I will cobble together video from today and post it for you. But marching--even virtually--is not enough! We need to take action. Nothing grinds my gears more than protests without action. Send postcards to your congressmen. Don't know where to send them? Send me an ask and I'll help you. Don't know what to say? Message me and I'll help you. Call your congressmen. Don't know the numbers? There are plenty of Tumblr posts with the info and they usually have scripts with them. VOTE at the mid-term elections. The Dudette came. The Dudette marched. The Dudette still does not abide.
