As part of Mental Health Awareness Week 2019 I was fortunate to take part in the Virtual Dementia Tour which was invented 20 years ago in America. The VDT is medically and scientifically proven to be the closest that we can give a person with a healthy brain an experience of what dementia might be like. Overall, the experiencing was hugely daunting, confusing, scary and I felt helpless, uncomfortable and in a little pain and discomfort throughout.
