Supplemental B of Episode 1:

Here are some screenshots I have from when I played Toontown Rewritten I think in 2016. These were taken in December during the Christmas event, hence the costumes and the snowman head.

I think the first picture really shows how, despite a relatively low population, Toontown Rewritten feels so lively. Even if not many people are playing at a given time, they tend to congregate and be social, which is just really fun to see.

Also, my main character from Rewritten is a black cat named Tex. The first photo also shows the crocodile model, which is unique to Toontown Rewritten.

The second episode, "Counting to 3," will be released in a little over an hour at 12pm PST! Today we'll be discussing the company Valve and the presence it had and currently has in the gaming world.

Supplemental C of Episode 1:

To add on to today’s episode, I’d also like to mention Toontown Infinite. This was the first Toontown remake I played, all the way back in 2014. The above screenshots are some I found from when I played the game six years ago.

At the time, it was in big competition with Rewritten, as both were trying to fill the same niche of cloning Toontown Online. From what I remember, they were almost exactly the same. I’m not sure what convinced me to choose Infinite over Rewritten at the time, but both were pretty big for a while.

It’s hard to find any information on Toontown Infinite, as it died off pretty soon after it’s initial release. It still exists as an offline server, but has been abandoned for a while now.

I’m under the impression that it stopped being worked on either due to internal team complications or because of a hacking situation.

I’m not sure the legitimacy of this, but it’s from six years ago and highlights the tensions between Rewritten (TTR) and Infinite (TTI).

Overall, Toontown Rewritten ended up being the prevailing revival of Toontown Online, which is why I decided to focus on it more on today’s episode.
