Why would they shoot at anyone that tries to enter their domain when having more duelists in the virtual world means more options for them to exit the virtual world via duel? They had a ridiculous homefield advantage, so giving the enemy more potential weak points would just be better for them.

Actually, Yugipedia says specifically that “Noah forces the gang into the fortress,” meaning that none of the characters involvement was even slightly voluntary.

But I specifically recall the people uploaded into the Virtual World were the cast who specifically left the vehicle. Not voluntary but that was whomst've'd got uploaded.

Marik didn't because he didn't leave the vehicle and then could later smash everything with his rod-axe.

How come the Big 5 didn’t rope Ishizu into the virtual world when they commandeered the blimp? She wouldn’t have any choice in the matter, her millennium item wouldn’t work on her virtual body even if it was functional, and her status as a well known Egyptologist would have given them a vehicle for more illegal shenanigans. It also would have been neat to see how the Big 5 and Noah cope with “mill your entire deck” the trap card, especially since the ark would make Noah even worse off facing her

But then Yami Yugi could simply summon TER from the Deck master zone and have it use its inherently broken anime monster effects and then base his entire deck around protecting it from destruction and other kinds of removal.

How come Yami Yugi barely used a different deck than normal during the virtual world arc even though he had access to every card ever used at that time? He could use the goodstuff from Kaiba’s deck(including Blue-Eyes), Toon World and Relinquished, Mirror Wall, Call of the Haunted, and so on. It’s not like he would be attached to the cards anyway, since they’re about as real and physical as NFTs, and having Thousand-Eyes Restrict as a deck master would just be completely goated.

Yugi/Yami like their cards, and it clearly worked out for the two of him.

Also, Noah could of given TER a bad Deck Master effect, you realize.

Honestly, they probably should of just said the cast's Decks got scanned or some shit.

If Noah was being a cheating little shit anyway, why didn’t he just go full ham and make his deck master ability something like “your opponent takes 4000 damage during each end phase” or “deal 800 damage to the opponent for each card in their hand?” Who was going to tell him he couldn’t? He’s basically the judge, so no one.

A) Filler arcs tend to be dumpster fires of "Why don't they just shoot them".

B) If you want an in-show argument, I think he wanted to have Kaiba have just enough rope that he could feel he could fight back and win, but slowly slide into an inevitable sense of loss. He didn't just want to beat Kaiba, he wanted to break his pride and his spirit, that was absolutely important to him.

If Yami Yugi’s Kuriboh deck master was tributed to activate a card effect that does not special summon a monster, how did he not lose then and there? Every other case of a deck master leaving the field without being used to summon a monster has resulted in a loss for whoever owned that deck master, so this shouldn’t be an exception.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Filler not having internal consistent logic, especially with that being the first real Duel using the rule set.

If you want the in-show logic, it's that Noah didn't give a shit, and might of been outright hostile/trolling the Big 5.

Are deck master abilities a HOPT that applies to all deck master abilities, or could using a deck master as material for a new deck master allow you to use the new deck master’s abilities even if you already used the old deck master’s abilities that turn? If the latter, how come no one even attempted to abuse this property to its absolute greatest degree or even do a little theorycrafting to optimize deck master performance and give themselves the greatest chance against the big five?

Deck Master abilities are whatever Noah is willing to let them be, because they're Cheat Codes as monsters. There's no consistent rules to them whatsoever.

It's kinda obvious he was bullshiting Shinato and its Ark as he went along like a dickhead.

It's hard to metagame against an asshole GM who changes the rules as he goes along, and that you can't go JADGE against for him being a little shit.
