finally used a free government covid test

it's negative. whew. did that yesterday. feel way better today. I felt like shit there for two days. I think I picked up some bug in a grocery store on the 3rd even tho I was masked up with an n95 (one of the 10% of people who were lol)

lately I'm picking up all manners of colds and viruses and I think it's just cause I've been so isolated for 3 years. I normally only get sick like once every other year, but now it's like a couple times a year. I still haven't caught covid itself, I'm one of the few I think. Which makes me anxious. Like a horrible waiting game.

but on a positive note even though my immune system is now kinda unpracticed and just picking up every joker ass bug it seems to squash them real fast when it does.

i know all the happy clappy “take time to thank essential workers!!” stuff in the uk rn is largely benign, but i really do wish we had a culture that prioritised unglamorous, private practical help over public displays and uncomfortable nationalistic rituals

like i would prefer maybe, a pension? fewer staff shortages? subsidised commuting? these are all things a lot of capable people who suddenly have a lot of time on their hands and an urge to Help could be very instrumental in making happen! at least donate money to a foodbank or help people fill in benefit applications? if you got hands to clap with i’d really rather you use them to reach out to others.

just please, if nothing else, no more flowers ok? it’s honestly kinda insulting that companies are still wasting freight on the bloody useless things when there are food shortages, and right now having something that we take care of only to watch it slowly but inevitably die until we have no choice but to throw it away is kind of a downer in the service!

Even people I thought would be hiding indoors for longer seem to be going out again so even the people I originally could relate to about being scared are no longer relatable.

I mean it’s not everyone’s job to be relatable to me, but it does make me feel worried that there’s something wrong with me.  I just have no desire to really go anywhere except maybe to visit my parents.  I don’t want anyone except my husband to touch me, but I also know my parents have had a really hard year and they probably thing hugging me would me comforting.  I’m not sure it would give me any comfort.

So I live in a shit redneck ignorant state where it already reopened and I had to go to Walmart to get insulin syringes and most of these shits are not wearing masks and they kept getting too close to me. This lady glared at me cause she got too close and I stepped away. Part of me thinks I’m being too paranoid cause my skin was crawling but I don’t want to catch it. Watch the state of Oklahoma report a rise in covid-19 cases bc our governor and citizens are fucking republikkkan trash.

oh, babe, I’m so sorry. Ohio’s been handling things pretty well but, like, the new party line in our state government are who’s wearing a mask bc the republicans refuse to and all the dems are wearing them and it’s just such a fucking mess. I hate this situation but I hate these bullshit politics more. I hope you’re staying safe and healthy in all the ways you can but I know it’s so fuckin hard when people around you are being super obtuse

I had to yell at my Dad today because he called me up to tell me they were on their way back from a jolly good time having a family gathering with the bulk of my mom’s family! INCLUDING MY 94 YEAR OLD GRANDMOTHER

but it’s ok, he said! They sat around the pool 4-6 feet apart!

yes, and all used the kitchens, the bathrooms, not to mention there’s not enough space for all of them to be that far apart like that
