Hmph! This is the guy? The one that took over the Viridian Gym!?
Oh, Silver’s got a bone to pick with this fellow -- and so he strides over with obvious intent, yelling at the top of his voice.
“...Hey, you!”

The events of the last battle were still going through Red’s head as he made his way out of the Pokémon World Tournament arena. How he stood there, almost frozen, his glance apathetic as he gave minimal input, not even seeming to command his Pokémon friends. Red’s Pokémon seemed to just fight on their own, not needing that kind of guidance. Red had hoped that his opponent, someone very close yet so distant to him, didn’t notice the fear hidden in his eyes and his stance. And now he dashed, through the crowds of people screaming his name and trying to ask him questions, the cameras flashing, and past that special person who he was too afraid to approach at all. Red had to run, even as he felt the chains of his title as former champion holding him down.
Red had to escape the memories of his past with his best friend, Green. Those memories used to be fond, but now they only reminded him of how he destroyed Green’s dreams in the blink of an eye. And now those memories were catching up to him. Green was shouting at him, chasing him, but no, his old rival would never be able to catch him; he just had to send out Charizard and fly away into the expansive Unovan sky... With a roar, Charizard took off, and Red could soon feel the wind in his face. He could try and go back to his campsite in Lostlorn Forest, cuddling up in a sleeping bag and letting the wild bug Pokémon crawl over him, but if Green followed... no, Red couldn’t risk revealing this place. It was a place where he could hide away safely from social expectations- much like Mt. Silver was back home.
Sure enough, he could hear Green shouting out to him. Red turned his gaze slightly behind him to notice Green on his Pidgeot, angrily giving chase. Red gave no response other than asking Charizard to fly faster, in an attempt to lose Green somehow. Knowing Green, though, he wouldn’t give up until he caught up with Red and got answers of some kind.
「 I guess my past really is catching up to me, then... 」▾
