Ok what I have so far is that Vision was in the process of being created, along with his AU. Ink was encouraging his creators in this process and ended up talking to Vison a lot (when he was finished enough to talk and interact)
Things were pretty stable, until the creator changed their mind about what they wanted him to be. All at once, they gave him the ability to see and experience everything that was happening in the multiverse at that moment. It destroyed him. He just…shut down, unable to process that much information. He went catatonic. Ink found him like that, and wasn’t able to pull him out of it.
And years passed. Inks visits got farther and farther apart. Nothing changed. Even his creator moved on and left him in his barren AU.
Here’s where I haven’t quite worked things out 100% yet. Either he eventually, through sheer willpower, was able to close his third-eye (given to him with his ability) or he slowly was able to process his sight and control it. If I go with the former, he has to learn to open it again without being immediately overloaded (likely with Ink’s help) but eventually masters it
This period of catatonia changed him, though. To be able to mentally handle seeing and hearing and feeling every horrifically violent event in the multiverse and every joyous one, he needed to cut himself off. Numb his feelings. He experiences emotions sort of like a Flowey. He seeks enjoyment or entertainment, and can have fun or be sad or disappointed or frustrated, but at the end of the day, most of it is sort of a facade. He builds relationships because it gives him something to do, but truly at his core, he’s unable to truly care for the people he’s close to.
Currently, his role in the multiverse is helping the Timekeeper and the Recordkeeper (these are extremely unfinished concepts as of right now. I’m not even sure if they’re gonna be sanses. Might be working on the Timekeeper with a friend.) he’s an Out!Code (his creators gave him that ability too) so can travel the multiverse at will.
As for his abilities, he can technically see whatever he wants, if he focuses on it. When his third eye is open, he sees everything but he manages to let it all settle into the background to focus on where he is in that moment. But if he wants to, he can hone in on a particular place and see what’s happening there (so long as there isn’t some sort of mental block on the area, like the Omega Timeline has.) He can read minds if he focuses, but again, people can block him out with enough mental fortitude. He can create illusions as well, show people things that aren’t there.
He likes to pick up people as “projects” and get under their skin by making them face things about themselves that they haven’t been addressing (that they’ve been “blind to”) (Nightmare and Error have been primary targets since Error has a lot of his past that he completely doesn’t remember an Nightmare has a shitload of baggage)
But other than that, he’s a pretty neutral force in the multiverse. He observes, he fucks around with people, but he doesn’t get involved with any of the warring forces. He doesn’t create or destroy, doesn’t spread positivity or negativity, he just helps people see.
