You know it’s a good day when all you do is listen to Balmorhea.
This entire album is beautiful, but my favorite song so far is ”Remembrance.” I could play this on loop forever and ever and EVER and die content.
.
Thanks to mstigergun listening to my rant about Visna, Charis, and their story in general I'm finally on the path of narrowing down exactly how I want it all to play out.
I'm recreating a world that is not Aion, but still has some magic, and the whole world building process is so intense. There is just so much to decide and consider when making these characters.
It's also helped me solidify the roles minor characters are going to have - I really wanted to keep Kal in the story and have found a way to, and Asa (sorry Lin, the name you hate is sticking because I SUCK AT NAMES) is a much more fleshed out character now.
I always knew I wanted Visna and Charis to parallel each other but I finally figured out how I want that to happen. I figured out specific flaws I want for Visna and how I want the insufferable pride Charis has to play itself out in his character growth.
I don't know if I am anywhere near actually writing this... I'm still terrified of actually putting my thoughts in to a story, but the motivation is there now, and more importantly the world I want it to exist in is forming on it's own.
Plus the ending is something I am actually proud of, and having affirmation that the ending is actually good is pushing me to flesh this out so much more.
Poor Charis. I feel so much worse for what happens to you than I do over Visna.
(and the Peter Gabriel cover is great too)
so I wrote a blurb, but it's late (early?) and I ran out of steam and I doubt I will finish it, so I am just going to dump it here.
Visna, after she escapes and returns to Asmodae. The last paragraph is just something I threw on there after being like NOPE I'M DONE.
