5. Talk about the best birthday you’ve had
Oh man, I think I was turning 11 or 12, when I still lived in Mexico. A rich, distant uncle of mine took us to a fancy Brazilian restaurant. It was delicious! They served our meat from huge swords and the fruit ice cream came in its own skin (in this case, orange). I don’t even know if that place is still there or not, but I’d love to visit again.
26: Talk about things you do when you’re sick.
Hmm, depends on the disease. Since I mostly just get strong colds, I just take medicine and lay down and be miserable. I get a little high from the DayQuil sometimes that feels great, but not much. Also, I don’t really skip class, even if I’m sick. It would take A LOT to get me to take the day off.
31: Talk about what you think death is like.
Never really given it much thought. That would depend on how you’d die. But I would think it would be painless and something you wouldn’t really feel. Whatever goes on after and whether I believe in the afterlife or not is an entirely different matter.
36: Talk about your guilty pleasures.
I guess those terrible movies that always air on SyFy channel. Not even enjoyably bad like Sharknado, but some really generic ones. Those can take some of my time.
37: Talk about someone you thought you were in love with.
During my sophomore year of high school, there was this new girl that I fell for right away. She was athletic and cute, but (from my POV at the time) down-to-earth and nerdy. We became friends and throughout sophomore and junior year, I fell more and more for her, even though she dated two other guys during that time. Close to Valentine’s, I ended up asking her out to the Sweethearts Dance and she said yes. We went out and thought it was a great time. I was kind of a shitty driver at the time, but nothing too bad happened. When I returned to school the following week, I was told by some friends that she apparently was talking shit behind my back and making fun of my driving and other embarrassing things I stupidly reveal to her about me during the date. I was crushed to hear this and wanted to talk to her about it, but she avoided me for the rest of my high school career.
I was very depressed, did horrible at school, and though I got better with my grades, it was enough damage to cost me the chance to graduate with honors. Some of her less flattering aspects, like her massive arrogance and tendency to use people for sex, began to come clear slowly. It was the most I ever fell for someone, and I deeply regret letting it consume a large part of my life.
Other minor shenanigans with her also occurred, but you’ll have to ask me in person for that. ;P
38: Talk about songs that remind you of certain people.
Conveniently enough, “Gives You Hell” by All-American Rejects came out after I got over her, and it immediately reminded me of her.
Can’t think of anything else.
39: Talk about things you wish you’d known earlier.
WOW, if I had to list them, we’d be here all day!
Two in my mind right now: I would have liked to known about this girl’s true personality earlier. It would have saved me a lot of grief. In addition, I would have liked to known about one of my classes being cancelled this morning! It would have helped me arrange my day correctly!
