Mini Holiday Boots and Superdrug Hair Haul
So, I'm off on holiday (yay) in about a weeks time, so I have been picking up a few things that I need, and of course some things that just caught my eye. Lets start with the important items... Boots.
I know Piz Buin has had some bad press recently, but I can honestly say it is the only sun cream I have found that actually stops my skin from burning. All the Piz Buin range was on a buy one get one free offer, and at £17 each I snapped this bargain up. The husband also asked me to pick up some of the aloe gel after sun, and I spotted the Garnier range was half price. I picked up an aloe after sun gel and a tan pro-longer after sun, which has a small amount of fake tan in it....we shall see how that turns out.
I am loving my bare minerals make up at the moment, but I wanted to give the matte powder a try. I don't know what it is like at your local Bare Minerals counter, but at both of the ones in Plymouth there is never a member of staff on them. So frustrating. So after wondering round for 10-15 minutes and no one asking if I needed any help I decided to rummage through the drawer myself to find my shade. Only then did a lovely girl off the Benefit counter come to ask if I needed help, but by then I had found my shade. I have had a travel size of the Origins Vitazing for quite a while now. I am actually amazed how long it had lasted. Since I have been banging the tube on my vanity for the past week just to get the product out, I thought it may be time to buy a new tube. The lady on the Origins counter was lovely, very helpful and even gave me a tester of 2 face masks. Origins now do pod samples of some of their products, but have small pots to give samples too, so don't be shy to ask if you can try before you buy!! My Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliner has been a nightmare recently, and has not been lasting all day. Picked up a new one as it is my current daily eyeliner and I can get a really fine line close to my lashes. I was never a fan of disposable razors, but they now have some good quality ones. My favourites are the pink Gillette Simply Venus 3, which as the name suggests has 3 blades. They are so much cheaper than the blade cartridges, and if I exfoliate, use a shaving balm before and moisturise after, I really can't tell the difference. Superdrug.
First of all, may I just say how much I am loving this moisturiser at the moment. I first used it on one of my recent trips home and my mum let me have the rest of her tub. It has no scent which wont irritate the skin, and it really does moisturise for the whole day. It has worked wonders on my recent sunburn (I know, Sunburn is so bad for my skin). I have just "finished" (I use this term loosely, I'll explain why in a moment) the tub mum gave me and had to repurchase. Decided to buy from Superdug as it was a 1/3 off the normal price. I used the term "finished" quite loosely because, although the product would no longer come out through the pump, there was still a lot of product still in the tub. I decided to cut the tub in half and scoop the remaining product into an old Lush tub (this is the small fresh mask sized tub).
I was amazed at how much product was left in the tub. Just thought I would pass this on.
I have seen Blow Pro range in Superdrug recently but I was never very interested. I popped in yesterday, just to browse, and all of the Blow Pro products had been reduced to ridiculous prices. I'm talking huge reductions, down to 50p and 70p as they were clearance stock. I picked up one of each of the products that were left, which wasn't many and thought I would give these a go. I have checked the website and all the items from the Blow Pro range are still available and are full price, this suggests it is just my local Superdrug which is no longer stocking the range. Hiding in the Blow Pro range picture is my Malibu factor 15 scalp and parting protector. This is going to be a god send to me while on holiday. My parting always burns because my hair is so fine and my skin is so fair. Obviously, like any other part of the body which burns, my parting peels and it looks like I have dandruff.... Not a good look. I have already tried this and it does not leave your hair greasy. I am surprised more of the brands don't make one of these. Definitely a thumbs up from me. I can't believe it has already been nearly a month since IMATs and I still haven't posted my haul post. It will definitely be up this weekend. Better late than never!! Sorry everyone!! See you all soon!
