Truck'N #24 'Ghost Traffic Lights' --> this tiny 6 x 6 inch hyper-focused treasure was part of my 50 intimate pieces named Truck'N with Vito! in 2014 as part of a solo exhibition at UMBRELLA ARTS Gallery in NYC, that also launched a traveling art education and autism awareness campaign. Ghost Traffic Lights are traffic lights that I imagine in my mind on the street while I am walking or driving, but they are not there, they are in my imagination. This piece also has images of Hammonasset State Park, ceiling fans and toilets, and I added a map of the Bronx on the sides of the canvas (not seen here). These mixed media treasures began with a first layer of a random, unplanned aerosol or acrylic paint background design, then the dreamy and colorful backgrounds served to fuel my imagination -- using paint pens and markers, images and stories from my mind’s eye, the visuals found residence on the canvas.
