If more people support a good cause why the fuck does it matter?

Because if you have to call yourself a brominist, you are outwardly showing your misunderstanding of the cause you claim you are for. A major part of dismantling patriarchy is not giving gender stereotypes power, and when a male feminist has to call themselves a brominist they are saying "I feel uncomfortable labelling myself with a word that sounds innately feminine." And the only reason to feel uncomfortable with that is because you're worried you don't sound masculine enough.

tl;dr: It matters because calling yourself a brominist means you're actively misrepresenting feminism.

I feel like a lot of people are mis-understanding this meme.  The point is that laws rarely prevent people from doing what they truly want. You can scream gun control until you’re blue in the face, but criminals will always find a way around the rules….similar to a person who doesn’t think pot should be illegal and, thus, continues to smoke pot. For the record, regarding my personal views, I’m pro-gun AND pro-pot. Crazy, I know. Neither should be illegal, and that is my opinion. 

And, finally: I DID NOT MAKE THIS. I took it from know-your-meme which was not quoted as a source because they stole it from the original “author.”
