ArtLifting Provides a Platform for Homeless and Disabled Artists

The artwork on this wall was created by a formerly homeless artist, Scott Benner. Through the sale of his work, Scott was able to secure housing, and he gained a new sense of joy and purpose doing what he loves. I would totally recommend looking at this gallery if you’re looking to liven up your walls while helping empower some awesome artists!!

“Chagall Dance” - inspired by this great artist who despite the horrors of WWII managed to find dreams, joy and love. I had a good two weeks which beat my record by 4 hours made in 2012. Felt my original La, the doer, the mover, the non-stop person before being bedridden most days. After all the intense self-portraits thought it time to access that Chagall joy. I am so blessed and have reason to celebrate! ArtLifting has taken me on and I am so grateful for the support. I can't wait to wear this new line from @thinoptics!! #Repost @quincydjones ・・・ I'm so proud to have teamed up with @thinoptics & @artlifting to create the Quincy Jones Curated Collection: a brand new line of prescription eyeglasses. I chose six pieces of art for the cases, designed by the talented Charles Blackwell, Douglas Pendleton, & Billy Megargel! This partnership makes my soul smile because it shows that anyone can overcome their life challenges if they just keep on keepin' on...Charles lost the majority of his eyesight in a car accident; Douglas is currently homeless; & Billy lives with autism, leaving him without the ability to verbally communicate. I admire these artists as well as their art, so I'm happy to announce that a portion of the sales will go directly to the ArtLifting Artists, Keep Memory Alive, & my own personal foundation that provides restoration support in the Gulf Coast!!
