hey! saw you've been watching daemons of the shadow realm - how is it? Ive been eyeing it but also couldnt quite figure out if Id like it (and havent had the time to try it anyway). curious what you think of it
Really good! I was expecting an actiony shounen that I'd fizzle out on by episode 4, but right from episode one I was like... oh hey, these characters have depth and complexity? And the story seems like it will also have depth and complexity as it goes on?? And also our main guy is giving me Alphonse Elric aesthetic vibes??? (different personality of course, it was just the art style).
Then I found out it was made by the same author as Fullmetal Alchemist and I was like oooooh, no wonder it's actually good and has the same art style X'D
So yeah, do recommend once you have the time for it! So far I really like all of the characters, and the premise of the world and the politics of everything is really neat. I am trying so so hard not to dip and look for the manga to read, since its so rare that I enjoy an anime like this (I think I did the same thing with FMA:03 actually, author really has this effect on me X'D)
Just fresh off book 4 of Saints of Steel by T. Kingfisher - so glad i had a long weekend to indulge in barrelling through that series, it was SO fun!
Gonna ramble and be spoilery under the cut, read at your own risk.
Hello I saw you made a post about the scholomance trilogy. I just finished reading it and need people to talk to about this series that just put through every emotion in the last 3 hours.
Oh yeah, all the emotions!! Seriously, I'm only just starting to recover X'D I think the thing that's gonna stick with me the most was how much I liked El's characterization. She was a good person, she actively chose to do good where she could, but fuuuuuuck was it hard. Like she dragged herself kicking and screaming... but she also would never really make any other choice. And was SO grumpy about realizing that.
I don't need my fictional characters to be relatable in the least to like them, but I admit it was fun in El's case, because I really felt that in my soul X'D
Just finished The Scholomance trilogy and am now at the point after reading a really good book where I am mentally sprawled on my back on an empty plain wondering what to do with the rest of my life X'D
I'm about halfway to two thirds through You Feel It Just Below the Ribs, and asdjasdlkajsadjal
The reveals, the implications, I can't even - mentally I'm rolling on the floor frothing at the mouth. I want to go back and listen to season 3 and season 1 all over again, holy shiiiiit
10 people I'd like to get to know better

Last Song: “We’ll Be Fine” from the Wisdom saga of Epic: The Musical
Fav colour: Candy apple red, followed by bright blue or royal purple - I like rich vivid colours.
Last book: Heavenly Tyrant by Xiran Jay Zhao, second instalment in the Iron Widow series. Got into the crunchy ethics with this one, very fun stuff.
Last movie: Uhm, I actually can’t remember - I have a to-watch list a mile long, but I’m terrible at sitting down and watching anything ^^;;;
Last tv show: Shangri La Frontier - I have a weakness for the sub-genre “Twitch stream but it’s an anime” ok? X’D
Sweet/spicy/savory: Savoury, yum.
Relationship status: Single with one cat and one dog as fur babies. Last thing googled: … Xiran Jay Zhao, to make sure I spelled her name right for the book question X’D
Looking forward to: Crafty things! I’ve been burnt out on personal projects for awhile now, so it’s nice to feel the creative verve flowing again, even if it’s just for some little things.
Current obsession: Epic: The Musical still has me by the throat.
No pressure tags: @uupiic, @solarflareanon, @glove23, @anjanahalo, @eleganttidalwavecloud, @chickenlover-19, @pastelopossum, @kaesaaurelia, @amorpho, @redskyeatnight
Again, zero pressure, and on the flip side if you weren’t tagged, feel free to fill it out anyways - I like hearing what everyone is up to!
Rupees as crystallized magic, and other LOZ thoughts...
Was thinking of Zelda stuff the other night when I was out walking my doggo (as one does) and I kinda wanted to list it out here to keep track of it. Don't take anything too seriously, this is just musing for fun, but feel free to adopt any ideas that strike your fancy.
Edit: This got long so I'm going to put it under a cut ^^;
