V: I wanna take you out! What are you up to? I hope you're hungry.

Van: Hey! What are you up to?

It had been a long bit since she’s seen J and it was something that needed to change. With a text and a yes, Vanessa quickly freshened up and headed for the road, remembering vividly where J lived. Thinking back at their texts she smiled a little, enjoying his sense of humor. Like dad jokes, but she enjoyed them. It brought a smile to her face. Parking her range rover in front of his house, thinking back on the night of the party and how packed it was. Crazy how clean and empty his house was now. Peaceful.
“Hey i’m here.”
She texted as she made sure everything in her car was neat seeing as he’s never been in it. She was weird about things like that. Making sure everything was in order so they didn’t worry about anything else but their opinion on Vanessa as person and not hot she lives. The less attention drawn, the better. Before Van turned down the music in her car, She looked at herself in the rearview mirror, and made sure there was no lipgloss on her teeth or anywhere other than her lips. Waiting for J to come out making her antsy.

Taking a quick shower and changing quickly as they texted, Vanessa felt the excitement. She liked hanging out with J, as soon as he felt comfortable he was fun. Vanessa kept her make up intact from set, loving the nude look she got to explore that day. Van wanted to look pretty, even if it was just hanging out with a friend, she like looking pretty, especially when her friend was so handsome. “Okay.” The brunette said to herself and looked herself over. Good, and in record time. She really needed to applaud herself for that one as she grabbed her phone and checked to see if she had any messages. None yet. Turning off most of the lights in her apartment, Vanessa waited on the couch, scrolling through twitter until J arrived.

V: I was hanging out with a friend who's boyfriend is in a band. I didn't know you were too...
Text J
V: Hey um it's been a couple days and I just wanted to say that I'm sorry. It was wrong of me to ask an ultimatum and it's not fair and i feel horrible.
V: i just want things to be okay again. I'm sorry.

She picked up the place. washed any dishes that needed to be washed; fluffed the pillows... Anything to get her mind off of whatever conversation her and J were about to have. Vanessa didn’t particularly enjoy confrontation, but she knew they needed it. figure out where they stood. She couldn’t sit still from her nerves so she lit a couple candles and turned on the television down low. He’s never been up to her apartment so she hoped he liked it. Not that it really mattered whether or not he liked her apartment, that was beside the point, she was just trying to busy her mind. Van sat down and stared blankly at the television screen, watching the flashing pictures go by and letting it finally all sink in. Truth was, she didn’t know how to feel about the situation. She was kind of hurt, but for what? What has he said or done to make her feel like it was ever more than just hooking up? That one time. Vanessa had become attached and she hated herself for it. Getting wine, Van poured herself a glass and waited for any sign that J has arrived.
