You know what would have been an absolutely hilarious episode idea?
The Galra try to poison the paladins with drugs that typically effect a being's nervous system, increasing or decreasing the signals/chemicals sent out fromt the brain to the body.
Allura and Coran are freaking out because oh my god, this is so terrible, there's no way that humans can withstand these drugs!
And its just...adderall. They gave the paladins adderall. So while, Keith, Hunk, and Shiro are kinda high, Lance and Pidge finish the fight up in record time, no voltron needed.
Starting the new month with some mermaid lance babeyyy.

You hadn’t left Lance’s bedside ever since he got sick.
It was strange–the fever, the slightly blueish tint to his cheeks, the raspy breathing–you had never seen an illness like this one before. Coran had taken one look at Lance and gasped, immediately recognising the illness as something he called “Druyak’s fever”. All you understood from Coran’s rant about the fever was that it was a type of food poisoning. Your mind was with Lance, and your thoughts started spiralling into worst-case scenarios before you could stop them.
You wiped the sweat from Lance’s forehead, refreshing the cold compress and pressing the back of your hand to his cheek to check his temperature, which didn’t seem to have dropped. Coran had said that Lance would probably be fine in a couple of days, to just keep him warm and let him sweat out the fever. But you were still worried. He had been bedridden for three days, and the fever had only gotten worse.
You got up, pacing through the room to stretch your legs and soother your nerves. He’ll be fine, you told yourself and you wrapped your arms around your torso, he’ll be fine. He has to sweat it out. He’ll be fine.
“Y/N?”
At first, you didn’t even register the voice as Lance's–as croaky and hoarse as it was. When you finally did, you whirled around, eyes wide.
“Lance! You’re awake!” You rushed to his side, pushing him back down on the bed when he tried to sit up and fussing with the compress on his forehead. “No, you have to rest.”
Lance’s eyes took a few seconds to focus on your face, and he frowned, weakly swatting at your hand and trying to push himself up. “Stapit. I can–I can do it myself.”
You sat back on the chair you’d dragged next to Lance’s bed, crossing your arms and raising an eyebrow, watching Lance struggle to push himself up and finally give up, flopping back down onto the mattress. He shot you a pleading look. “Help, please?”
You rolled your eyes, but obliged. Thirty seconds later, Lance was sitting up straight, held up by a pillow to his back, and sipping a cup of water that you held from below to prevent it from falling. As glad as you were that Lance was awake, his fever hadn’t dropped, and even holding a cup of water seemed like a bit too big a task to trust him with.
Smacking his lips, lance heaved a contented sigh and let his arms fall to his side, leaving you to catch the still half-full cup out of midair, and suddenly you were glad that you had supported the cup. You set the cup down on the nightstand beside his bed, resting your chin on your hand. “So how are you feeling?”
Lance frowned, his nose scrunching up, and pulled a face. “Like… there’s these… my head,” he mumbled, blowing a strand of hair out of his face, “it’s full of… like… cotton. Fuzzy.” His words were slurred, and he giggled. “Heh. Fuzzy.”
Even though you were quite positive that Lance’s rambling was due to his fever, you still pressed a hand to his forehead, not a bit surprised when he turned out to be burning up. “You need to rest.” When you made to pull away your hand, Lance tilted his head and pressed a quick kiss to your palm. He grinned at the blush dusting your cheeks.
“You’re so pretty, you know that,” he blabbered, pointing at you with a shaking index finger. “So freakin’ beautiful.”
You couldn’t hold back a laugh. Even though you knew it was mostly the fever talking, you also knew that Lance meant every word he said. It was adorable. His eyes were a bit out of focus, and his grin was crooked and a little sheepish, and your heart swelled in your chest. I love you, you perfect human being.
“Ahhh, there it is,” Lance exclaimed, making grabby hands at your face, “the smile! Beautiful, most perfect, most handsomest…” he scowled, slightly cross-eyed. “That’s not a word, is it.”
“It is now,” you chuckled, sneaking a kiss on his knuckles.
“You know, Y/N,” Lance muttered, fumbling with a few loose strands of your hair, “when you smile, I fall apart.” He grinned.
You racked your brain for something to say in response, but came up empty. A lump formed in your throat. This is what love feels like, you thought. Funky little Paladin, making me sob like a little bitch. When you looked down again, Lance’s eyes had slid closed and he was snoring slightly. Completely knocked out. You sighed, brushing his hair back and pressing a kiss to his clammy forehead. I love you.
