The VLD Season 9 Breakdown
Season 9 Baby! This is just a brief background info bit in case you are a little unsure of what might be going on, but I assure you, I am going to do my best to take care of you all

- I am not paying too much attention to formatting it just kind of comes out
- I’m REALLY bad with keeping in consistent tense, so bear with me

- Why I’m calling it season 9? Mainly because I didn’t want it to feel like a focused fic with any sort of specific theme. My goal is to create a continuation that (god I hope) feels more like a genuine (good) season of vld. If you want to give it a name, I guess you could call it “Unofficially”.
- Why am I doing this? Lots of ppl are writing healing and fixit fics. Which, are all amazing and I applaud each one. I just feel like we also got a short end in the plot department and missed out on a lot cool stuff for “Voltron” in general. While I call it “season 9”, I know it will be nowhere near the same storytelling of the original. I just wanted one last adventure story to wrap things up for me, versus a post healing fic. So if you want a ride, I’ll try to provide!

*RELAX* - I am going to address MUCH of what wasn’t in reference to plot, some things we wanted to see, some relationships. It might take awhile. but PLEASE be patient. I promise this isn’t a bait, have a little faith.
- I am ignoring ONE thing and that is the final whatever-years-later photo at the very end of the series. You’ll eventually see why but I don’t care for it and this story doesn’t either.
- This is an original story. While it uses elements from previous seasons, the end of VLD has happened. The war is over, and peace to the universe and all that. There isn’t any “Zarkon is alive again!!” nonsense
- at the start of the story, 3 years have passed since Allura’s sacrifice. 2 years since the lions have left.
- Lance is on Altea. I wasn’t sure (and didn’t want to check) if he was on earth. His family is not with him because he can’t expect his enormous family to move with him to an alien planet. They have their lives (also it’s part of the story)
- there may be some inconsistencies with s8, and I apologize in advanced, but I haven’t watched it again since and don’t plan to while writing. If there’s anything major i notice I’ll be sure to edit accordingly, but overall I’m not delving back too much into that plot line anyway.
- Lance is NOT Altean. Just has marks
- I should mention at least that at this point, Lance never dealt with his insecurities. Whatever that was in S8, they really didn’t do that part justice.
- I don’t know when Shiro gets married, but at this point, he’s not
- be patient with any of my “science”. Google can only do so much
- i will not be able to address EVERY plot point that wasn’t explained. There’s some stuff that has to be overlooked. i’ll chalk it up to a reality reset.
