What: New Places, New People with Anyone

Where: Bus Route to Anywhere in Jeju Island

When: 5:30 AM, July 5

      After wrapping up Valkyrie promotions, this was the first break the LYNQ member has had in a while. Thanks to the glamorized camping trip set up by the Big 3, Jasper was able to experience Jeju Island for the first time! Having grown up abroad, and barely travelling back, he hadn't been able to experience what South Korea had to offer. The resort island was a hot spot, and visiting it during the summertime was the perfect time to be able to experience the island.  Keen on going to new places, he was ready to be a tourist in his own country before his schedules piled up again.

      To maximize the time he had available, Jasper got himself up and ready during the wee hours of the day. Dressed in a simple white tee, denim jeans and a baseball cap on top of his head; he headed out — as quiet as he could, so that he wouldn’t wake his tent-mates up. Even if it was an early trip out, he didn’t expect there to be another person on board. There were vacant seats around, but he took this opportunity to meet new people. Flashing a toothy smile, he approached the person “Hi, I’m Jasper. Do you mind if I sit beside you?”

and while hyunjae was the type who found every reason to stay indoors, some days, he had no objections with spending his day out. today was not one of those days. he imagined himself liking this more if he came to jeju on his own terms and time. not that he wasn't grateful for what seemed like a paid vacation, but lately, he'd rather spend his days in the studio, or somewhere quiet... maybe even dark so his senses weren't overwhelmed. there was just a lot going on around him, and the last thing he felt is relaxed -- which, in his opinion, is the point of him visiting the island in the first place.

if his little tantrum wasn't enough, he lost yejun and the group they were with doing those quick tour around the place. or maybe he's the lost kid and everyone's looking for him. from the looks of it though, he didn't seem lost or annoyed at all, sitting on one of the beach chairs in the shade, looking at the scenic view and watching boisterous crowds enjoying their activities, "people look at this view and expect you to come up with a summer anthem or something." he says mindlessly heaving a sigh, "would it be weird to come up with a break-up ballad instead?" an amuse smile etches at the corner of his lips, one that soon fades when he realizes he was not alone but in the presence of chae seungyong ( @vldseungyong​​ ). he pauses for a moment before he continues, “i... said that out loud, didn’t it?”

Luckily for Taewoo, his usual ( terrible ) sleep schedule seemed to have prepared him for this particular activity. While others still had trouble waking and also getting up, once he had a sip of his morning coffee he was usually good to go, five am and only four hours of sleep, or not. Besides, the idea of spending at least some of the day with one of his best friends had him excited, especially since as of late they had been meeting under less positive circumstances. At least today, all they had to do was enjoy the sunrise together.

As they hopped off the bus at their destination it was still pretty dark outside, the peak quiet aside from them and the few other people on their shared trip who decided they were going to enjoy the sunrise today as well. Once their feet were both firmly on the ground beneath them, Taewoo took Kiki’s hand in his own, swinging it between the two of them as they walked and found space at one of the railings overlooking the water. “Thanks for coming, no one else wanted to wake up with me,” the Danger leader smiled, a soft laugh leaving his lips as he looked at his friend, making him out the best he could in the dark. Not that Kiki had been a last choice. Or even a second. @vldkiki​

sebin had come to tent group two for the sake of finding a few of his friends, but he had (unsurprisingly) overstayed his welcome. he was keeping to himself, anyway  —  minus a few quiet comments to his friends who had been present, sebin had been silently trying and failing to roast marshmallows. something he’d never done before and his lack of knowledge was embarrassingly evident; the metal skewer in his hand had met at least fifteen marshmallows by this point and every single one had somehow caught fire. he didn’t think a burnt marshmallow would pose any serious threat to his health, but he knew that they weren’t good, either. so all of them had been given up to the fire completely.

it wasn’t until almost everyone had left that sebin finally decided maybe he should ask someone. his first choice was han minkyu. having given an awkward apology not too long ago, sebin wasn’t sure if his company was still viciously unwanted  —  he figured he was probably still seen as a little bit of a nuisance, but it didn’t matter much. he’d bother the idol regardless. if there was one thing he was incapable of doing, it was leaving minkyu alone. “hey,” he addressed plainly, looking at the idol over the flames. “you wouldn’t happen to know how to roast a marshmallow, would you? it doesn’t seem like it’d be that hard.” but if he kept at it, he’d end up wasting a whole bag of marshmallows.

“you don’t think that this stick thing has finger-print recognition, do you? maybe it’s sabotaging me on purpose. thinking hey, you don’t belong here! leave!”

At such an hour, it was perhaps best that he had been convinced to bring a hat sufficient enough to block out the sun, although, of course, the baseball cap left the back of his neck vulnerable to the rays that were perhaps all too determined to provide an unwanted tan or burn. In most situations he would have forgone sleeveless shirts and shorts for something that better hid the tattoos that rather readily gave away his identity, but it was his hope that being off the beaten path would be plenty cover for them to enjoy but a sliver of time away from prying eyes and quick camera snaps.

The thin material of the white tank top stuck to his back by this point in their hike, plastered there by the backpack he’d volunteered to carry as it held their drinks, snacks, and other supplies such as sun cream and jackets. Fingers furled around the straps of the knapsack, the soloist looked to the woman beside him, a soft smile on his lips as he drank in the only source that could... well, quench his thirst. Perhaps that was... dramatic. But true. Endearingly, adoringly true.

Around them the forest breathed, sheltering them from the rest of the world in ways that Seoul and other modern elements could not. Here they were free to an extent, a feeling that blossomed in his breast as he reached for her hand, gently intertwining their fingers as dark eyes hidden behind equally dark lenses returned their attention to the trail before them. It was gut wrenching to know that if anyone saw them that such a sight as hand holding could ruin their careers, and despite how it felt as if it had been hours since they’d seen anyone else, his heart still raced anxiously at the possibility of being photographed together.

“I don’t know how you can hike in those things,” Deoksu commented, glancing down at her shoes with a chuckle. “A testament to your strength.”

the plan had been to take the bus into town to shop for some meat for the barbecue for that evening. and it had started well, he and bandit had managed to get the right bus, the problem then came when the two of them ended up getting off at the wrong stop. not a problem for two grown adults with years of experience in the adult world, you would think. then you would be wrong and neither of them really knew where they were going anymore, meaning the two of them were simply just aimless wandering down streets they didn’t recognize. 

“maybe we should have asked for directions fifteen minutes ago,” jungwon did eventually have to offer with a sideways glance at his companion for this trip. because now they had probably walked miles in the wrong direction. then again, it was not like there was really anyone around to ask at the moment. then he grinned, turning to bandit with a rather joking tone of voice, “bet if you posted on your social asking for directions, you’d get hundreds of responses in seconds. probably hundreds of fans showing up in person as well.” that was a joke, obviously. the last thing they needed right then were fanatic particle fans.
