@vldeztm liked for a starter!
[There was no shelter here.]
[It's like the suns rays could never die, never falter, beating down as harsh as midday though you were pretty sure it wasn't high noon when the world shifted. And if you didn't have your hat, tried and true, you surely would've baked in the heat by now. Succumbed to a sun not unlike the one you were so used to back home as you trudged through a wasteland of shit like the whole of Alternia's landfills were emptied into the streets.]
[It was weird. You were nearly high enough to brush with the telephone wires - only a few feet more and your horns would make contact.]
[You soon realized that the ground wasn't level, however - certain closed off areas, like alleyways and dead ends, didn't have enough space to fill in entirely with the unwanted payload, and so the ground would begin to dip until it was low enough that you were certain you could touch the true earth with enough effort, if it was still there. Low enough to the ground to provide a bit of reprieve from the horribly sweltering sun, these areas became your lifeline. It was in one of these alleys, thin and dipping down into the ground, that you yet again spotted a face you remember. Only this time, you weren't the one stuck in the garbage.]
[Lucky for him, he seemed to be at the bottom of the divot - it seemed the lowest point was only a few feet above ground, allowing for a slight bit of wading through the flood until it steepened out again. Trying your best to make your way down the pile of trash without slipping or causing a landslide (garbageslide?), you eased your way down to where he was, giving a curious look as his predicament came further into view. Though, he didn't seem to be too bothered by being stuck in the valley between two trash mountains, which struck you as a bit... odd. But whatever. Like you were one to judge someone for seeming a bit apathetic.]
