Expo Day
So today is Expo day for me, and my chance to pick up my running number at the ExCeL centre in East London!
It's also my chance to get a bit of a rubdown in anticipation of what I'm about to complete. The guys at the Expo in the Massage Area are akin to gods to the runners. A little loosener of a massage rather than a deep sports massage which would leave us all unable to move. The guys and girls are all trained physios, and funnily enough know that we're about to run a marathon, so they know just what to do, and the advice they give is invaluable. #magichands
On top of that there looks like a fantastic programme on the main stage. I'm going to try and catch the Experts show this afternoon to listen to a little bit about pacing. It's probably the one part of my running that I'm focusing on most this year, as I look to achieve improvements in my time. I was quite successful in my training of sticking to 10 minute miles, so I'm going to go out at 10's on Sunday and see what happens! I think provided I have no issues, I should get to about the 22mile mark without any problems on pace...it's the last four miles or so that will be an interesting time!
