Not every scene deserves the same amount of page time. Sometimes you need to summarize three weeks in a sentence. Sometimes five minutes takes three chapters. Pacing is about emphasis. Slow down when emotions are high, when decisions matter, when everything could fall apart. Speed up through the boring necessary stuff. Your reader doesn't need to experience every meal and every conversation, just the ones that change something.

It’s okay to sit down while doing anything in the kitchen. You don’t even need to be disabled or chronically ill. Your feet do not need any excuses. Rest them

It’s okay to cut potatoes in front of the tv while sitting on the couch.

Abled folks could learn a lot from the measures disabled folks take to adapt to their conditions and hack their environment and daily tasks so it benefits them in all the possible ways.

And - it is an investment in future self to learn the skill of adaptation should one fall ill or disabled for any reason.

A pacing Bactrian camel

My first time animating something other than a horse! I've mostly just been using working on this as a way to turn my brain off when I'm stressed out, so it's rather rough and not really as tidy as some of my other stuff, but I really enjoyed making it. I'm kind of obsessed with the range of motion they've got in the carpal joint and how it makes them look so back at the knee.

Nervous heartbeat while imaging my first pacing attempt, with each thump against my ribs echoing the countdown on the monitor.

A metallic taste of fear coats my tongue, and my mind races faster than the ECG tracing, looping a single, frantic question: What if I can't do it? This isn't just a simulation anymore. The cold weight of the defribrater in my hand feels like a promise—or a threat—of the unknown power I'm about to wield.

Every breath feels too shallow, as if the air itself is holding still, waiting for the first jolt to break the silence.
