Surprise!
Vagina Monologues, round two tonight!
That moment when I work on something from over a year ago that I never finished before and then suddenly have the driving urge to try to play a site that's been all but dead for a while and that I have no clue how it even works, really.
I FEEL KIND OF LONELY OVER HERE ON THE SITE. VMONS, WHY YOU DEAD. (I mean, I know, lack of coder, but fffft).
Come here my lovely followers. My referral link is below, if you wanna hop on to a dead site and putz around. Lmao. Ahahah. vv----------------vv http://www.vmons.com/register/1184/1763b2dff7d439879e1613dbb76a19dc
OK, SO
Even after everything I've posted today, I'm still getting questions about my ~~feelings and ~~opinions about The Vagina Monologues. I guess I haven't really named them, per se, so I should chalk this up to not being clear enough. Eve Ensler wrote The Vagina Monologues, just in case anyone wasn't sure.
The Vagina Monologues are okay and I'm okay with the fact that she's coming to my city to make this protest all about her. She's still transphobic, sex-normative, racist, colonialist, white supremacist and she is not my feminism. Ok? Ok.
If I have to really explain why I take issue with her appropriation of WOC's stories in order to perpetuate an image of men of color as "backward," her colonization of Africa and her transmission of singular narratives about African women, her usurpation of a white mainstream feminist voice, her gross view of what "liberation" entails, and her exclusion and and misrepresentation of trans*, genderqueer, and intersex people, maybe we're not ready to have this conversation.
Anyone wanna contribute any posts/writings on the subject?
