Every Outfit Moon Kuen Wears in a Week | 7 Days, 7 Looks | Vogue
MONDAY.
This is my "Day-Off Look", I'm not going to call "off-duty" because I'm a model, there is no such thing as "off-duty", every corner of the street can be a runaway, alright? So this is what I would be wearing when I a had free time to spend with my friends, with my family, or just with myself. Going out to do groceries, shopping, seeing a movie, or going to a museum, having lunch... I don't know, the options are endless. However, I can assure you that I'm always gonna go for a pair of loafers or sneakers, is not that I don't love heels but is something that I'm probably gonna wearing on my work so it's not exciting for me doing outside on my spare time. Before modeling I was to be part of a junior team of figure skating, and doing all those jumps and runs made my foot have a lot of wounds, is not something that I complain necessarily, I walk for a lot of high fashion houses and I love doing it, I love when they give be the shoes with the most inches but for the sake of my feet I would choose sneakers over heels on the daily. White shirt, khaki pants, it's a very classic combination, I doubt is gonna get out of fashion cause you can detail with everything and make it pretty. This valentino bag that, is it matching the pants and the scarf that I'm using to make my low ponytail. I feel so cute and comfortable.
TUESDAY.
"Do It Like a Moon Girl Look"... Okay, so if you already know who my family is, you probably say that the previous outfit I used felt more like something that my sisters, my mom, and I could all put it out, which i also agree. I think, even if we have different aesthetics and way of using the items, we all gonna agree on blazers, wide-leg pants, a neutral color for a shirt or a top. For example, this is a Aya Muse knit top, which I am sure i saw my sister Nayoung use one of those at her home once. My sisters and my mom are the biggest inspirations that I have. I learned so much just watch them, and still kind of am. I remember when I was very little, my sister Yehjin would ask my mom to go out with her friends and I would ask if I could go with them too because I just loved going out with her and listen to their conversation, even though we had an age gap of 15 years and there was stuff that I didn't understand, she would cover up my ears when they would curse or talk about something that I should not know. Sometimes I could be a pain in her ass following her everywhere, but I could not help, I was just in love with her and wanted to be as smart and cool as her. And then there our older sister Nayoung, who is just ethereal, she just has a touch of glamour on her, not like everyone assumptions though, she is a very simple person but i think that makes her more chic than expected. She also helped me a lot when I was thinking about considering becoming a model, I will never forget how she spends hours with me backstage on my first Versace show. In a lot of ways I'm very privileged to have the family that, their names certain gave connections in the start of my career as a model, and because of that my prior goal since a teenager was to be very delight in the job the career that i chose and make them proud of me.
However, every time people on the internet remember that I am the younger sister of former actress Moon Nayoung, and one of the biggest names in journalism in South Korea, Moon Yehjin, they gonna show a picture of me in the baddest fit they can find, which is probably going to be me in a day of work just leaving my apartment in NYC when its winter. I don't remember what brand this hat is but i bought it from a store on seoul, I recommend looking up to independent korean fashion brands, they have a lot of cute accessories and in my opinion its one of the reason what makes korean fashion appealing for the world. I love this hat, it reminded makes me feel like Hilary Banks from the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and she is my favorite character of all time, I used to watch the sitcom with my sister Yehjin too... To be honest with everyone, I can't give you a straight answer of how to be a Moon girl, i'm still learning how to be, sorry.
WEDNESDAY.
This is my "Airport Look", is not even a look, is more like a dress code. i'm very grateful for not being a kpop idol and having devoted people taking pictures of me traveling because every time i have a flight i'm gonna be this way. I will always gonna go with a hoodie or a sweater, cause it's comfortable. I also hate planes, I know it’s ironic because it’s part of my job to go around countries but I really don't like flying. Ah, also fun fact: This sweatshirt was a birthday gift from one my dearest friends, Ethan, he just gave me because i once told them that my bisexual awakening was watching Bella and Edward's love story on twilight saga. It's silly, I know, he isn't very good a gifts, but I mean, I like using it, it’s my comfort sweatshirt, for no reason at all. I like bringing a large bag when I travel ‘cause I have all of my needs in here and if i need to go to a working place already, I put a matching top to my jeans and a pair of heels on here and it fits perfectly. That's information I don't think you guys need to know but I said it. I'm also wearing Christian Dior jeans, they are very comfortable.iI feel like a suburban soccer mom kind of serve? Again, and go to the airport and I just hope I can't been seen.
THURSDAY.
This is my “Going to work in Fashion Week” moment. When I was younger i used to get prepared so much for those times, wearing high heels and wanted to go bold in my outfit choices. I was just a kid at that time, i thought if i always had high heels that meant i was doing my job, which is true since i was going to walk in the runaway hours before, but you know one of the best part about fashion is that when you grow older your sense of style matures with you so I gave up on the ideia of using heels all the time and just deciding to go in a more casual way just like a normal day. But its Fashion Week, right? You have to feel yourself cause its another season of the year, so i pick this y2k style type of sunglasses and in that minute i start to feel like I’m the main character. I also love being chromatic about my outfits, they are very plesant to the eye, and brown/beige are such beautiful colors, i absolutely love this Fendi top, they have a lot of pieces that i enjoy wearing.
FRIDAY.
This is a fun moment called “After Party Look”. This is a Calvin Klein dress that was originally a gown that Kendall Jenner wore on the 2015 Met Gala. I was working with the brand to go in one of the Mets myself and walking in their studios I saw that beautiful dress that was in my favorite color, the director desginer even asked if I wanted to have it and I got dumbfoded and thought they were kidding but after the Met Gala happened they address a box with this dress with a letter saying they made a replica of it with adjustments to be short dress cause they thought it fit me more and i could use whenever go out. Here we are now!
SATURDAY.
If people don’t know already, I’m proudly married with a singer and thats my fit to go be in the backstage in one of her shows and even people think that i’m pretty in everything, nonetheless I try to make a little more effort for her. I always try to be present in those moments for her, I always get a bit more in love watching her doing what she loves, and one of the inspirations I have to look good there. This Markarian mini skirt is very comfortable to dance along and choose this gorgeous Laquan Smith bodysuit with a turtleneck to not feel cold in there.
SUNDAY.
Sunday is that day of the week that doesn’t feel like have the energy do not nothing, right? I think its a common statement that Sunday are boring days, I just decided to show you guys what i liked to call my “comfort dress”, it is from Alessandra Rich and i’m just love the texture of the dress. I love using long dresses when I am in my house in South Korea and just sit outside reading on my kindle, eating some lunch, playing with our pets, and then i put my shoes on and go take a walk in the dogs. Sunday is just a day to be a home.
