✨Wed✨- What would you sing at karaoke night?:

This song pictured above! I performed it twice this year as a voice student- once for my winter semester voice lesson final in front of a board of my professors and then a second time for recital in front of my peers and family for a grade. I’ve never felt more confident and sure of my voice and it’s power before I got the opportunity to perform this piece. I actually got the option to pick whatever song I wished for voice lessons and this is the one I chose! I’ve polished this piece a lot with my voice lesson teacher and she told me that she was really proud and in awe of me and the work I’ve done and it literally made my heart swell with pride and joy. It is “Pulled” from The Addams Family Musical by Andrew Lippa! I found it through my favorite West End actress, Carrie Hope Fletcher! 🖤

100 days of productivity

✅ food shopping: stocking up for when I go back to school

✅ kept up French streak

✅ practiced piano (Chopin etude and duet with cello)

✅ practiced Tahitian dancing

I’m feeling drained today. It’s not even 10 and I just wanna go to bed. 😫

I’m combining 100 days of productivity and the new year challenge bc the prompts overlap.

What languages do u speak? English. Unfortunately I am monolingual. I wish I knew Tagalog so I could speak it with my family, but both my parents and I don’t know it. 2nd gen life :/

My resolution involving language: because I’m studying Diction for French (basically, French for singers. Learning how to sound French when you sing without having an American accent. It’s a half credit class and it’s pretty interesting) I’m gonna do at least 5 minutes of French a day on duolingo.

Day 3/100:

Coincidentally, my diction prof gave us a list of French words to have memorized by the time we go back to school. We’re gonna have a quiz the first Thursday back. I was told she’s kinda a hardass when it comes to the French unit, but I’ve been a good student thus far when we covered Italian and German. For funzies, I included the list. She includes the IPA so you know how to pronounce the word (according to standard lyric diction at least)

I have a singing test today and I somehow expected it to be Thursday for some reason 😅 

My teacher is all over the place. Constantly forgets things, is usually at least an hour late, and schedules several students for the same day at the same hour all the time 🙃 

Anyway, wish me luck! I know these songs by heart, but... yeah, I wasn’t ready today for this test. There’s also the fact that I have to sing those Vaccaj exercises, which I don’t dominate too well. #Nervous.

Things my choir teacher has said:

Whoever made that note long, I bet you drink milk after the expiration date.

That is what is called in choral music, putting some stank on it. Tenors you smell fresh out the shower.

I just witnessed someone refer to a glottis (like the part of your throat that allows sound formation) as a “thrussy” and I need to wash my eyes with bleach

I ordered a freakin gown on Amazon today. I need a new dress for my voice recital, and this one was on sale and had really great reviews and pictures and stuff so I said fuck it and I ordered it. I hope it doesn't show up looking fake as fuck. My recital is in a month!

This audition application is asking me to fill out any music class I've ever taken, and also list all of my solo repertoire???? THERES SO MUCH.
