Was doing some voice training with voice tools and figured out how to play song of storms with it's note generator...

wtf why does this app that I downloaded only register higher pitches on the graph??? literally when I try to go lower it shows jack shit. it records audio fine it just doesn't put it on the damn graph.
like???? i screenshotted these two when I listened to the short recordings it made. I was speaking the whole time, trying to stay low because that's my goal, and it doesn't read it at all. if I speak more femininely it marks it just fine.
I tried messing with the settings but there's nothing there that helps?? idk what to do about this. maybe I could assume that if I don't see any lines I'm in my target zone since it doesn't seem to actually register lower pitches, but I would like to actually see it y'know?
this is the app btw. if other trans mascs use it and it works for you do you have any idea why mine is being dumb??
hi! i use that app too, and it genuinely might be an issue of depth. some microphones have a lot more trouble picking up lower tones, which i know probably isn’t helpful. i also have issues getting it to pick up any audio other than the recording it does for the analyze function. sorry if this isn’t helpful :-[

a few other folks have said it's the app being weird, and I've been recommended a different one called "Voice Pitch Analyzer" that apparently works a lot better? I haven't gotten to use it myself yet, but when I do I can make a quick little post about how it compares to "Voice Tools" in case anyone else is curious. :)
Having a cold and scratchy throat is doing wonders for passing
