namjoon uses magic to keep himself from aging? and him and yoongi were childhood friends before he brought yoongi back to life but that was a Very Long Time Ago

vmin, hoseok, seokjin, and jungkook are added to the family later, in that order, with any possible amount of time in between

so really, undead circus au is any and all time periods

I meant to say “heck no” but my typing is getting away from me. Also, an important question; because they’re undead, do they eat? what are their eyes like? Has namjoon ever thought about holding some of their body parts together with stitching?

two of these questions i know the answers to and the other one i’m discussing with mia currently~

they do not eat! this is why it’s easier/cheaper to deal with an undead lion, he doesn’t have to eat anything~ namjoon is the only one who really eats (maybe not as much as he should but)

as far as stitching goes? limb-removal is actually super integrated into the circus acts! especially with the acrobatics~ so stitching would be a little unhelpful for certain things? for the most part, they’re held together with namjoon’s runes, but for some smaller things stitching is definitely a viable option! (some of them, like jin or jungkook, probably have more stitching because they’re less likely to use it as a gag)

on the third question, mia and i have consulted: they’re normal, but probably removable a la corpse bride? with the right clothing, most of them can pass for living (especially yoongi) expect for maybe vmin because their deaths were a little more violent

OMG it’s definitely happened~ although jungkook is the newest family addition, and at first he freaks out whenever they do stuff like that (taehyung accidentally made him pass out once by taking his head off when jungkook was already freaking out)

this is awesome! also, as someone whose aus regularly spiral out of control, I sympathize. But seriously, this is really cool! I’m a giant hoe for body horror type shenanigans.

i...okay i struggle a lot with plotting things out but world building is the Most Fun

ALSO body horror [this au is mostly funny i promise]:

yoongi was the first one namjoon brought back, his first try, and he...didn’t quite do it right. yoongi is fine, but most of his ribs are exposed under his clothes. when he performs, he doesn’t wear a shirt, so you can see the fire inside [namjoon has to use magic to make sure none of it escapes, so yoongi is covered in runes almost always]

also taehyung likes to “lose his head” and people often steal jimin’s limbs while he sleeps. sometimes jimin will throw his arm into the audience to select for audience participation.

there is a rule about “body part puns/idioms” and 95z refuses to follow it

this is something that @syubnugget and i came up with on twitter, and honestly this whole au exploded from an old chinese war story about a juggler and then an off-hand comment about necromancy and now it’s spiraled completely out of control

the premise is that namjoon is necromancer

everyone else is dead

undead.

[as of today, we have back stories on all of their deaths for those who wanna know. namgi backstory makes me cry a little but it’s fine]

but it’s not like these people can just go back to their normal life? necromancy isn’t a perfect science. you can tell that they’re not normal…

so. circus.

acts are as follows

namjoon - ring masteryoongi - fire eaterseokjin - contortionistjimin - acrobathoseok - acrobattaehyung - lion tamer (the lion is also dead. it’s a lot cheaper that way)jungkook - knife juggler/thrower

namjoon keeps the circus running with runes and magic, and the others keep namjoon going as best they cancue shenanigans
