Silly Snoodle, that cage is supposed to keep you out, you shouldn’t be inside!
Life is an eternal cycle. Gathering Materials. Converting Metal Salvage. Building.
On and on it goes, forever.
I haven’t gotten very far yet, but here’s a preview of the free-swimming section of my base. Plus a tiny sneak peak of what I’ve so far built of the actual base, on the bottom of the deep blue sea.
I’m almost there!! With fog turned off, I can already see the bottom of the void!!
Good news is that I’m pretty sure this is enough titanium to get much, much deeper. Bad news is that converting all that might take quite a while
Welp, looks like my void base is officially at the point where even just trying to place internal furniture causes the game to crash, plus there’s a high chance of it crashing if I enter my base while holding a tool or if I just held a tool a few seconds ago, to the point where like 30-ish% of today’s building was just loading screens. Not sure how long I can keep this up.
Just a normal workday in the void
Some updates on my void base:
The Bois are huge. Like, absolutely MASSIVE.
There’s 6 on-site medkit fabricators, plus a lockerful of more, for reasons you can see swimming around if you look out the window.
Did I mention how big they are? When they’re all attacking you it’s kind of hard to tell who’s the biggest of them, but his name is Leo.
Neo is the youngest of the three and probably still sees you as food.
The tamest of them is called Teo and he only nibbles on you a little. He’ll even do tricks for you if his brothers aren’t around. (They always seem to be around though)
At first I used the stasis rifle to safely build down quite a bit. Then I got bored and decided to continue construction with only my habitat builder and seaglide, just the way nature intended. You’re all invited to my funeral. update: using rifle again because the lag is killing me, and while it was exciting at first, things got tedious fast
There’s a seemingly endless glass corridor from the beginning of the base to where I start to build downwards. It’s pretty boring, and I’m planning to rebuild it eventually, to be more exciting and include more swimming.
At the entrance to the base, there’s now a small lounge, including some autosort lockers. Once it’s finished, this base is meant to be my main production facility as far as water & food are concerned. The outdoor gardening in particular is probably gonna be very exciting!
Tldr; I need more titanium, both for the base itself and for burying reinforced multipurpose rooms in the ground outside. This might take a while.
