well, sure, it’s just a particularly bizarre example because it’s for something that seems like such a basic adult life skill, at least in a country as reliant as this one on driving? like, as stubborn as i am about driving (25 and i still have yet to get my permit), i’ve still somehow picked up the skill along the way.
Sure, but that’s the point, right? Here’s a thing--I’ve been told that Australian aboriginal people traditionally use the cardinal directions for everything, even stuff Americans use relative direction for (left, right, etc.). So they always know which way is North, etc., from childhood. Do you know which way is North at home? At work? At the park?
Just as a random example. In Oregon, pumping gas is not a basic life skill. In the US, riding a bike is not a basic life skill, though it certainly is elsewhere. And so on.
