Intro (kinda) + theme park ramblings
hi im too complicated to explain right now but I have a bunch of fun facts and silly random things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
did u know i have synesthesia and dyscalculia and i couldn't do math in school the normal way cuz of dyscalculia so i made up a bunch (SO MANY) silly stories about numbers and math and calculating and i wanna share it with the world!!!!
that'll probably be what this blog will be about (hence the username) but i also just wanna ramble about stuff too!!!! so:
did u know there's a theme park in the netherlands called the efteling and it's my special interest and i love it so much, it was opened in 1952 originally being a playground and a "fairy tale forest" but they decided to expand it into a full-fledged FAIRY TALE themed theme park!!!! i know many people like fairy tales and their aesthetics and such so i hope i'll infect someone with the efteling fuzzies >:3
one of my favorite attractions in the efteling is villa volta, it's categorized as a "madhouse" which in theme park attraction category terms means that the visitors get the illusion that certain things are upside down!! it was opened in 1996 and it was the first of its sort at the time which is really cool
the story of villa volta is based on the folk tale of buckriders which were robbers believed to have made pacts with the devil allowing them to fly on winged goats given to them by the devil
the house of the leader of the buckriders is villa volta, and the leader in the pre-show (Hugo van den Loonsche Duynen) of the attraction talks about how his house is cursed by a woman after he robbed an abbey, the woman telling him:
“Nowhere in your house, nor in any other place in the world, will you find peace. Only when a noble person with the clear conscience like that of a newborn child enters your house will you find peace in your home and in your heart.”
and this is where the madhouse part comes in!!!! his house is cursed and every time visitors enter the house (Hugo hoping someone will be the one breaking the curse) the curse happens again, making the house rotate and move (which is the main show!) and it's all such a cool illusion and i love it so much the techniques were really cool at the time (and now still too!!)
