Deirdre despised Mortis with every fibre of her being. After everything that had happened with the Siren, she wanted nothing more to do with him, and the more she had spoken to May, the more she realised that she may have misjudged her friends. Especially Ki.
It was hard for her to admit that she no longer wanted to be a part of Mortis’ schemes to harm her, let alone to confess that she believed they could be friends; which is why she was surprised by Ki’s reaction.
“You...do?” she asked her hesitantly, her dark brows furrowing and then raising as she admitted to liking her style. “I do?”
Ah, but how little Ki realised that truest beauty was found in the unsuspecting moments! Only Wilford could see the way she was at ease. Even if she was on autopilot, she wasn’t working on something that troubled her. He had lingered by the doorframe a moment before moving. Maybe she was thinking about her work, or the cats, or maybe she was simply idly daydreaming. Whatever it was... She was content. And after everything, that was the most beautiful thing.
“I dunno ‘bout that. Yer hair is styled real nice. An’ yer in chipper form, so that makes ya... ‘Bout twenty times cuter.” He was cut off with a chuckle as Ki brought him closer. By instinct, his hands dropped to her waist to keep her close.
“Who me? Ya say th’ cutest things, y’know that? That’s ‘cause I’m withcha right now. We’re a real attractive pair, y’know that?” He leaned down to peck her nose. “So yer stuck with this handsome face for a looong while yet.”
Ki was correct in believing Faye could’ve handled the situation herself, however, she was trying to keep a low profile while still out in public. Since arriving, the man had been pestering her and damn near begging to get punched. That surely would’ve turned heads so having someone else step in kept the attention off of her.
Sighing, she calmed the rage that had been brewing inside her like a raging storm. Her attention returned to the stranger as she offered a genuine and thankful smile.
“There needs to be more like you,” she laughed before then straightening up. “Let me buy you a drink or something. Might be good to stick together. And at least that guy knows you’re not going to tolerate his shit so that’s one less creep to worry about.”
Her hand extended out, offering a friendly handshake. “Name’s Faye.”
Damien hesitated. It had been his idea to invite Delirium out for lunch. They needed an opportunity to talk and catch up without the looming pressure of unexpected phone calls. But for Delirium to offer to pay before anything happened...? If didn’t feel fair. Damien knew it would be better for him to pay, but was it worth the scene?
His options were weighed, and his posture relaxed as he lifted his glass.
“Alright, alright. I won’t cause a fuss. I promise. Thank you. This is a very kind gesture. But you must not make a habit of always paying, alright? It’s only fair to let me contribute sometimes too.”
I think it's worth reminding everyone that I likely wouldn't have this blog if it wasn't for you. You were the first person I wrote with, over on Di.scord as a test run. Not only that, Wilf and Ki have been the longest running ship I've ever written. I know things have been on a bit of a lull for various IRL reasons but... We'll eventually let them plan that wedding!
I've always loved how openly supportive you are. Nothing is a bad idea in your books. If someone wants to try something and you know how to help cough the server cough then you do it. It's been so exciting to see you share your work (and receive the same level of support from the rest of us!) and watch it change and develop. All the girls! I'm so curious about them all. The interactions between Damien and Rue are *chef kiss*. Ki is loved both by her dad and her fiancé. And I'm eager to learn more about the newest girl because her story sounds so sad ;A;
I'm glad you're not pushing yourself with how much you have to deal with IRL, but don't think that it's to your detriment. I'd much rather wait and know you're writing because you have time to do so.

"WIFEY!! How are ya doin', my pretty sugarplum? Ya better be havin' fun tonight! Or recoverin' from havin' fun, dependin' on when ya see this.
I maaaay be biased, but Trixie is what th' cool kids call a 'cutie patootie'. They've got one of them smiles that makes ya wanna smile right back. A solid 10 outta 10 if ya ask me, an' I'm sure others would agree!
What Ash forgot ta mention was that Trixie's a bubbly person. I distinctly remember how they were someone unable to speak through giggles when mentions of a Bishop's Wife came up, an' that's not even mentionin' when stories were shared. If ya haven't, send 'em a message an' say 'hi'.
As fer Ki! My Cupcake! Th' one I'm engaged ta! She's so pretty. Y've no IDEA how cute she is. She's been through Hell an' back an' somehow she's able to be so strong an' confident, even in her bad days. I don't remember if I say it enough, but I'm so damn proud of her. If I'm able ta be there, well... I've been able ta follow days a lot better ever since I fell fer Ki."

It was a quiet night. Ki and Wilford had decided to go to bed so they could watch a movie and cuddle. It seemed like a fantastic idea, until Wilford suddenly forgot what happened for half the movie.
For once, it wasn't because of his bad memory. It was actually because he fell asleep during a scene where two characters were talking about their plans. He had genuinely intended to stay awake, but he wasn't able to.
When Ki lifted her head off Wilford's shoulder to ask something, she was amused to notice how he was quietly snoring. It would be better to wake him, but why do that? Instead, she could simply snuggle back in against her beloved pillow and enjoy the closeness. She could pull the blanket up to properly cover them.
And finally, she could find she was so at peace that she too soon dozed off. They could watch the movie another time.
Oh?? What's this?? I have a letter for you that is filled to the brim with these symbols right back at you!
There's also something else here, and it says that you should absolutely explore the concept of Rue more. Having a being that has encompassed the Void brings forward so many very interactions situations if you believe the idea that these stories are pockets within a large, empty Void. :D

"I can't say it's a surprise to hear that I'm very proud of how far you have come in the time I have known you. Finding your footing - literally and figuratively - and making a new life for yourself is everything that you deserve. I only wish you more happiness and satisfaction in life.
But can you please stop dragging Aethena and May into trouble and-or enabling them??"
