Hi everyone! Since 2020 I've been fostering cats through an organization called VOKRA - the Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association.
One of my kitties, Pippin, needed a complicated surgery earlier this year to address a growth in her eye. The surgery was a success, but it was very expensive so I'm raising funds to help cover its cost for the foster org!
tl;dr: $10+CAD donation gets a cat added to the "VOKRA Atsume" wallpaper! See instructions in "VOKRA ATSUME" section belowABOUT MERRY AND PI
For every $10+CAD donation I'll draw a cat of your choice in Neko Atsume style and add it to this huge Vancouver-themed fantasy Cat Cafe wallpper that I will finish this week:
Join me for the livestream event where I'll be drawing all the cats in on SUNDAY NIGHT PST, Sept 7!!!
The cat rescue I used to volunteer for needs some help raising money to cover the cost of Penelope's surgery. I know that times are hard for everyone, including myself, so even a reblog would be much appreciated. There are 12 days left to reach their goal of $4,700 CAD.
You can donate via the Facebook Fundraiser
Or through the general donations link on the VOKRA website
About Penelope:
Help Penelope on Her Road to Recovery! We're reaching out with a heartwarming yet challenging story about Penelope, a courageous kitten with a fighting spirit. Penelope's journey began when her Mother was found scavenging for food. Soon after, she gave birth to three kittens, with Penelope being the tiniest and bravest of them all. Despite her small size, Penelope never let her challenges define her. She was always the first to play, climb, and explore. However, as she grew, so did her discomfort. An X-ray revealed a shocking discovery: Penelope had a fractured femur.
Her Road to Recovery Penelope recently underwent a crucial surgery to reconstruct her femur, involving screws, a rod, and bone lengthening. This surgery was essential for her to live a normal, pain-free life. The cost of Penelope's surgery and care has been significant - with the surgery alone coming to over $4700. VOKRA, being a non-profit organization, relies heavily on donations to continue our work with cats in need.
How You Can Help We're launching a fundraiser to help cover the costs of Penelope's surgery and ongoing care, including her laser therapy and pain management. By contributing, you're not just helping Penelope; you're supporting the mission of VOKRA to rescue and rehabilitate cats like her.
Follow Her Journey We will be sharing updates, photos, and videos of Penelope's progress – from her pre-operation days to her post-surgery recovery. Watch her transform back into the lively kitten she's meant to be!
Please Donate Today Every dollar makes a difference. No amount is too small. Together, we can ensure Penelope and many others like her get the chance at a happy and healthy life. Thank you for your kindness and support.
Back in November the cat rescue organization I use to volunteer at started a fundraiser where you could buy their foster cats an advent calendar (full of cat specific treats/toys). You don’t know who your calendar is going to but they would let you know after they were sent out. I just got an email about the kitty that received mine:
Lilibet is quite regal so she is named after Queen Elizabeth. She and
her kittens were recently found running around a Canadian tire store,
causing havoc, setting off the alarms etc. but the staff could not catch
them. Vokra trappers came in and trapped them. Lilibet and kittens are now in separate fosters. Lilibet is a lovely, sweet kitty who will be ready for adoption soon!

Please consider making a donation to VOKRA at vokra.ca for the holidays or your local/preferred animal rescue. 💖
Volunteers at the Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association already have their hands full with kitten season in full swing – but they just got fuller with almost two-dozen cats rescued from a hoarding situation.
Hi guys! I know this is a lot to ask and so many of us are struggling these days, but if you have a few spare dollars or even just a reblog in you to spread the information about the rescue I used to volunteer for that would be amazing. They’re in a lot of need right now and struggling to cover costs of vet bills and other things. I can vouch for them and say they are a wonderful organization and really do care deeply about their cats. Cleo, my girl who passed in September, was rescued by VOKRA and if she wasn’t I would never have had the time I did with her.
Anyway, thank you for reading and helping (whether that just be a reblog or an actual donation that is so appreciated).
I used to volunteer for this rescue organization and they need your help with Millie’s vet expenses. VOKRA is an excellent, completely donation and volunteer run organization and needs your help. My kitty, Cleo is a rescue from them. If you can donate or at least reblog that would be amazing!
When Millie was just a baby she was rescued from an attic along with her brother and best friend Sheldon.
Despite her challenging start, she's grown up to be an affectionate and sweet little lady who's full of personality and spunk. She loves to play - chasing balls, hunting for treats and stalking her brother around the house. Most of all, she loves Sheldon and is only truly secure when he's around to play and cuddle with.
Watching Millie jump and play you'd never suspect she has a life threatening condition, but during a pre-adoption check-up it was discovered she has a herniated diaphragm. This herniation has resulted in some of her organs being pushed into her heart cavity. Without immediate surgery to correct the problem, Millie will not survive much longer.
With surgery her prognosis is very good and she has an excellent chance of living a normal, happy life.
