this is super niche and i can't explain it, but Herbert from Tanz der vampire and Vlad from Nachtwacht would either be besties or they would be each other's nemesis or they would be like the two cousins at family function's that barely tolerate each other.
does the Night Watch share a room??
Here is something I noticed in the new audio episodes (i guess that's what they are called?):
At the beginning of the episode Monsterparade, the villagers are getting ready for the parade. Inside the inn, Cooper asks where "the three others" are, referring to Wilko, Vlad and Keelin. Helena replies that they are in their room. In the next line, Vega also says "in their room".
So I thought, 'oh, they probably mean the private room behind the kitchens as that is where the Night Watch spends a lot of time', but then I listened to the episode Koboldspelen.
In that episode, the following lines can be heard:
"Wilko, Vlad and Keelin were standing in their room."
and
"Because they wore their Supra capes, the Night Watch no longer stood in their bedroom --"
Which, can I just say that if it is true that they share a bedroom, and we are looking at consistency (which i know is lacking in Night Watch, but still) then that does beg the question: where did Keelin and Vlad spend the night in the episode 'The werewolf' in season 1 when the two of them locked Wilko in the bedroom??
Anyway, all I can conclude from these remarks about their room is that Nachtwacht is not beating the polyamorous ot3 ship alligations anytime soon.
you know those fireplace or aquarium moving backgrounds you can put on your TV for 2 hours straight?
I want one of those of Nachtwacht's secret room with all the candles lit and books all over the place and the only moving thing about it are the candlelights flickering and every once in a while some vague footsteps in the distance or something.
And with slowed down, melodic twinkle-y versions of Nachtwacht songs as audio.

not exactly a roman empire, but lately I have been thinking a lot about what if Nachtwacht had been allowed a higher age rating or if it had been made for an older audience - in terms of how much darker the series would go in terms of themes and such
