I AM CRYING I CAN’T BELIEVE HE DID IT
[4]
HERE WE GO HERE WE GO
THE DADS ARE GOING FOR IT! THEY'RE LEAPING RIGHT BACK AT EVIL WOLVERINE!
THE DESPERATION OF IT ALL
I DON’T THINK THEY EVEN THINK THEY CAN EVEN DO ANYTHING TO HIM THEY’RE JUST HOLDING HIM OFF WHILE THEY STILL CAN
AND LAVA LAMP THROWS IN EVERYTHING HE HAS AT GETTING TO SAKURA
Oh it's really getting to me now this is really it
AHHHHHHHHHHH HERE IT ALL GOES AHHHHHHHHHH
OH THEY GOT HIM! DIRECT HIT!
EVEN EVIL WOLVERINE WASN’T EXPECTING THAT!
THAT’S WHAT I LIKE TO SEE!
AND LAVA LAMP DID IT!
AHHHHHHHHH HE DID IT
HE DID THE THING THAT WE'VE BEEN TRYING TO DO SINCE PAGE 1 OF THIS MANGA
AHHHHHHHHHH
[8]
10/10 stunning Yuuko moment.
(secretly every Yuuko moment is a 10/10 stunning Yuuko moment BUT THIS ONE IS PARTICULARLY NICE)
BUT WAIT MORE THOUGHTS MORE THOUGHTS. It turns out Clow Reed stopped Yuuko at the point of her death, but I have questions! Did he know about her death ahead of time and stopped it as it was happening? Or did she Actually Die and he turned back time to save her, like Lava Lamp? Because I would expect something a bit more Universe Breaking from Clow Reed.
DID he Reverse Time to save her, and if he did, did he end up creating a clone person in the process? And who was it? Was it the Other Clow Reed who ended up in the Clow Kingdom, or was it Evil Wolverine maybe?
Or! Is Yuuko maybe actually a clone? Like, a clone of the person who actually died and frozen at that exact moment of her existence forever?
We have some fun options here.
But also that looks like it's the end of the chapter.
[3]
OH THAT IS SO ROUGH TO SEE
THEY CAME SO FAR AND STILL JUST CAN’T DO IT
HERE WE ARE AT THE END OF EVERYTHING AND WE JUST AREN’T ENOUGH TO TAKE ON EVIL WOLVERINE HIMSELF
THIS IS NOT QUITE THE RESULT WE WERE HOPING FOR
AT LEAST THEY'RE NOT DEAD?
OK!
OK ME TOO!
I DON'T KNOW WHAT MADE THEM YELL BUT YES I AGREE
OH BUT THEY’RE UP AGAIN.
That’s actually way better than I was expecting.
Maybe they were yelling in urgency that his window is closing? It looks like the pocket dimension is completely breaking away to nothing and Lava Lamp is RIGHT THERE on the EDGE of being ripped apart by the universe but he’s GOING FOR IT ANYWAY
ALL OR NOTHING TIME THERE HE GOES
OH!
I had a thought while writing the tags and had to come back. This is Lava Lamp's Kurogane moment! At the end of Seresu! When the world was closing off Fai from the rest of reality and it was only Kurogane reaching for him that saved him!
Hang on I'm sure we can find a picture of that
YEAH HERE WE GO
THIS IS THAT MOMENT BUT FOR LAVA LAMP AND SAKURA
WILL WE BE 2/2 FOR DESPERATELY SAVING YOUR MOST IMPORTANT PERSON FROM A COLLAPSING DIMENSION BY THROWING YOUR HAND IN DESPERATELY AND TRYING TO PULL THEM OUT BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE?
[7]
oops it was immediately answered on the next page
my life
Anyway, IT WAS YUUKO!
Ok yeah that explains a lot. That’s a very easy piece of the puzzle that we’ve been hovering around for a very long time.
So Clow Reed tried to save Yuuko by, I guess, freezing her existence at the exact moment she died? That really does explain pretty much everything about her little inbetween dimension that's partially there and partially isn't, and her connection to dreams, and her vivid connection to Watanuki.
Like… yeah. Yeah that just connects right in and finally says it out loud.
… OH NO IS THIS WHERE YUUKO ENDS?
[6]
OK!
I’m sure he will explain this in great detail but for the moment I have no idea what he means by that.
So, sure! Ok!
Whatever you have to say! Thanks!
... DID FAI BREAK HIS MONOCLE?
HE DID!
I genuinely need an Evil Wolverine translator at this point. THE WORDS ARE IN ENGLISH BUT WHAT DOES THAT MEAN EVIL WOLVERINE??
Can I parse this? Or is it nonsense?
Ok let's try it.
Is he saying that: (Lava Lamp’s decision to go back to Sakura’s point of death/curse)(connects to)(someone else entirely)(who is also at the point of death)(and was frozen there right in the moment before dying)?
Is that what he means? He has such a deliberately off kilter way of speaking that he genuinely just sounds like he’s repeating nothing over and over again.
So who is this other person? Does he mean Yuuko? I don’t think we know anyone else who might secretly be frozen right before dying, and she has the big narrative question mark hanging over her. I think she's the only one who it could be.
Oh, except maybe Watanuki? Through a technicality?
One of the two?

Chapitre 214: The Last Chain
Like last time there's no cover page, and the first page of chapter seems to follow directly on from the last page we saw, so I'm just going to put them both here:
The big gorgeous view of all the worlds in the shape of Sakura's wings is now shattering and breaking apart.
So, Evil Wolverine's plan is working! The universe is falling to pieces!
You can even see the background of reality falling away behind Kurogane and Fai, which is very cool and very menacing, and the crack even continues on directly below into the next panel! Even though it's a different location! So even the reality of the manga panels is breaking apart too how meta is that
And I LOVE the effect they use here too! In the top right, with the cracks extending across multiple panels, and the pieces of those panels coming away and falling up the page??
IT'S SICK.
IT'S SO COOL.
IT HAS ENTIRELY DISTRACTED ME I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
Meanwhile Lava Lamp is still reaching towards Sakura!
No-one seems to be able to move and reality is falling apart around them BUT HE SURE IS TRYING!
Well, if you say so Watanuki! I can't argue with that.
