Volcano Inferno Tank and Drip Kit
Hello again!
So, after a busy weekend leveling my Rogue in World of Warcraft (Goblin FTW!). I am back with another chronological review. This time we'll be talking about the Volcano Inferno! I really really have to preface this by saying if all you want to know is "Do you recommend the Volcano Inferno" -- Three thumbs up. Yes. Yes I do, go, buy it now... read on if you want to know a bit more about it!
Sooo, my review of the Inferno Batteries themselves.
I was a bit scared of this when I hit the order button, there were tons of good reviews for this product but I was a bit jaded because of my recent Blu purchase and thought to myself "Hmm, maybe everyone is so desperate to quit smoking they review everything as awesome?". I received this in the mail 2 days after ordering (Fedex Flat Rate 2 Day FTW!) (haha today is FTW day!) and was very very impressed.
So the kit comes with a 1000mah (Milliamp Hour) (I'll go over terminology in a subsequent post so stay tuned!). and a 650mah pass through.
The smaller (pass through) has an end cap that can be removed and you can plug a USB cable into the bottom of it and vape forever at your computer. I do mean forever! The Inferno batteries (which I now know are just eGo style batteries) are pretty well built, they feel solid. The buttons are pretty awesome and fire every time. They have an on-off mode which can be accessed by pushing the button on the side 5 times in rapid fire (I recommend doing this without an atomizer attached!). They have a cone that fits most atomizer/drip tip and cartomizers to smooth things out a bit. It is really just all around an awesome awesome set of batteries. Until this past friday -- this is what I used CONSTANTLY. (What I have added to my rotation will be discussed later! I love teasing people!)
The Tank Kit
Not AS impressed with this, but still meh. The Tank Kit, is an atomizer with a special post that 'plugs' into a plastic tank which is filled by you. Thus allowing you several hours of vaping with no real hassle of dripping and whatnot. I have learned since that there are better methods of doing this, but this is a descent method for the novice and it works fairly well. I will warn you though, this can be leaky! I've had a tank just blow out all of its' juice for no apparent reason. Your best bet, is to bring this AND an atomizer AND a small bottle of juice - or - a filled cartomizer (306 or 510 cartomizers will work! So all those blu cartomizers that you have laying around can definitely be a backup) just in case you have a major malfunction and the tank kit pees itself and you are out of juice. That would be bad >.<
All in all, if you enjoy being constantly reminded of how sub-par a product is get a Tank kit, otherwise read on for more recommendations.
The Drip Kit
The drip kit comes with 1 (one) LR Inferno Atomizer (or 510 1.5 ohm for the technical) and a Drip Tip (mine was blue, and made of Anodized Aluminum, still use it to this day).
I have to caveat this saying that my initial experience with this was one of severe disappointment. The LR Atomizer that I got was dead, just dead. Didn't work on anything I tried it on. This does, however, give me an opportunity to tout Volcano's customer service. I created a ticket with a notification of the DoA status of the Atty, and they responded within a few hours saying they had another one out to me in the mail! That was excellent!
Now, so after about a week and a half (Yea, USPS is pretty slow from Hawaii to the Mainland at First Class... really slow apparently) I finally received the replacement. It was fantastic! I dripped a few drops of my FAVORITE JUICE... (haha... spoilers!) and it was a phenomenal Vape, massive vapor, great flavor... it was just amazing. No, really, it was pretty win. This was really the best vape that I'd had up to that point. Really spectacular, no bull!
So this Atomizer lasted about 3 weeks before it bit the dust, before it just stopped working it was kinda funky, grody... tough to draw... flavor tasted muddy, I probably should have retired it prior to that -- but still. This is a fantastic way to Vape. If you don't mind taking bottle of juice around with you, and you have time to drip a few (two or three) drops in there this will work really well for you and you will probably be pretty satisfied.
A couple of caveats, if you're dripping you MUST have a drip tip. Don't try to vape right on the atomizer, that might burn!
Always always always make sure you have juice in it! No juice in your atty is bad bad bad nasty ick.
Yeah, the Drip kit is the way to go if you decide to get one of the inferno starter kits.
Now, for my first E-liquid review!
I bought two bottles of E-Liquid from these guys, the Menthol and Menthol Burst. I'm going to try to keep these brief as flavor is subjective!
So, Menthol, has a strange undertone which I think is the replica tobacco taste. It is pretty tasty though, but it may take some time to grow on people. Throat hit is descent, it 'feels' like you're smoking. Throat hit is that feeling you get where its kinda burny in your throat... it is dependent on Nicotine primarily (though cartomizers can in my experience reduce that throat hit). So yeah, descent throat hit for the nicotine level I got. Descent menthol facsimile. All in all good juice.
Menthol Burst... is very mentholly burstish. It is a BLAST of menthol... not so much of any other flavors. It is like smoking a can of Vicks Vapor Rub. No joke. It is descent if you like a massive menthol burst -- with no other flavors, or have an unusual love of Vicks Vapor Rub. I recommend adding it to another flavor you like (and make sure you add it in a separate bottle to make sure you like that! Don't do it and ruin your juice and send me sadface notes!) to make it mentholish. All in all descent throat hit, STRONG menthol. If that's what you want that is what you'll get with menthol burst.
In Conclusion...
If all of that was tl,dr here is the cliffs notes version!
Volcano Inferno Kit -- WIN!
Inferno Tank Kit -- meh...
Inferno LR Atomizer / Drip Tips -- WIN!
Volcano Menthol Juice -- Kinda win.
Volcano Menthol Burst -- Kinda meh, good in other juices.
That's it! Volcano Inferno (or any other eGo style set up) HIGHLY recommended.
