THIS IS OUTDATED AND SHOULD NOT BE USED. i was uneducated on transIDs when i made the voleaic term!
voleaic identities - terms using vol prefixes/suffixes
what are voleaic identities? - voleaic identities are for those who are yearning or hoping to be something. for example, someone who wants to be an idol may call themself volidol/idolvol, and someone who wants to be a vampire may call themself volvampire/vampirevol. voleaic identities are inherently queer.
what aren't voleaic identities? - voleaic identities are not transIDs. unlike transIDs, voleaic identities aren't related to gender. however, users of voleaic identities may feel that their voleaic identity plays a role in their gender or that their gender plays a role in their voleaic identity. voleaic identities do not include those who yearn to be harmed or harmful, or those who wish to be a different race.
why "vol"? - vol is used in many languages to mean a want or desire (i.e. french "vouloir" or italian "volere"). some romance languages use a derivative of the word velle to express a wish for something.
about the flag & symbolism - the voleaic flag is intentionally complicated to show the complexity of queer identities. blue was chosen to symbolize hopefulness. a blue forget-me-not sits in the upper center of the flag, which symbolizes yearning (a hopeful wanting). the rainbow near the bottom of the flag symbolizes queer identities.
