Volgadraco is our next Azhdarchid, a pterosaur from the Rybushka Formation of Saratov, Russia. It lived in the Campanian of the Late Cretaceous, about 80 million years ago. It is known from fragmentary remains including the lower jaw, some vertebrae, and part of the femur. I thad a long, pointed, and triangular jaw, and it had a crest on the bottom of its jaw as well, with the whole jaw being covered in beaky tissue. It had an elongate neck, but not as elongate as later Azhdarchids. It probably would have had a wingspan between 100 and 120 centimeters, making it a fairly small Azhdarchid. It appears to be rather intermediate in morphology and size between older Azhdarchids and the later huge ones of the latest Cretaceous. It lived in an environment of low lying islands in a warm sea, and it - like other Azhdarchids - probably ate small animals that lived on the islands in its environment.
