Tooru doesn’t want to leave, not yet. He feels better being here instead of his cold and silent house. And of course Hajime would know this. He doesn’t even have to say it, and his closest friend would be able to pick up on even the tiniest signals he puts out.

“Really ?” Tooru lifts his face up from his knees, looking at Hajime with big, hopeful eyes. Maybe that spiky hair of his acts like an antenna. A beat passes, and he reaches out to grab at the end of Hajime’s sleeve, pressing his hand over his. “No need for the couch...we can just sleep together in the bed like we always have.” Granted, they weren’t six years old anymore, but if they squeezed in a little closer...it should work. “Is that...okay ?”

The best part of all this training is that Tadashi is invisible. It, sort of sucks, honestly, but it’s also great. He gets the experience of matches that feel far more real than the little ones his own team can do among themselves, but without the attention the more memorable members of Karasuno get.

That means that when he hears the whistle, Yama doesn’t think for one second that it’s directed towards him. He looks, of course he does, but it’s only to see who made the sound, and maybe see who it was meant for. What he sees....makes no sense whatsoever.

Where it came from is very clear, but, the guy is looking at... him?

Yamaguchi freezes on the spot, only his eyes moving as they flick about frantically while he processes this impossible situation, making him look very much the part of a rabbit in headlights.

Then he manages to move his head, looking around for some other person, because clearly they must be the intended recipient of that whistle and request. But there is nobody else, not where Tadashi is standing.

He still has to be certain, so, slowly, Tadashi lifts one hand and points to himself, all but whispering a single, confused: “Me?”

Iwaizumi could only look at Tooru with confusion. Oikawa was crazy right, Hajime was totally not asked if he'd love his best friend if he was a worm.

"... No I wouldn't. Worms are just bugs, and I think bug fuckers are weird."

Finn had been waiting patiently for this, waiting ever so patiently... only to get his treat slurped up before his eyes. He groaned, upset that Oikawa just spent the money he gave him for a large, and didn't even give him the large!

Oikawa tormented him.

"Oikawa-saaaaan!! That was supposed to be mine! I can drink a whole large to myself, I'm not THAT small! I'm going to tell Iwaizumi that you bullied me for lunch money."

“Aww c’mon, Finn-chan~! I was just trying to be a good senpai and help out ! Wouldn’t want to let annyyy of this go to waste, after all.” Tooru takes another deliberately loud sip. He nearly chokes on it at the mention of Hajime, however.

“Pwah---Iwa-chan ?? He’s gonna hit me if you tell him that !” Tooru whines, immediately handing the peach boba to Finn. “Here, here !”

Yaku smiled innocently.

There’s no denying that Yaku has this sense of coolness and style to him, but Tooru thinks he might be a little bit insane wearing that outfit in this heat. But his competitive nature won’t let it go. He has to take Yaku up on this challenge.

“Yaku-chan...! You might be underestimating me there. I live in Argentina now, this type of weather comes hand in hand with it.” Tooru sets his bag down and opens it, rummaging through its contents---only to pull out a suit himself. “Wanna see who can last the longest~?” Okay, maybe he’s a little bit insane too.
