Showing up for my random monthly check in. This time, your favourite tumblr account ever has gotten back into pokemon. Playing (Volt) White 2 in particular!! I didn't realise my version was a hack until I booted it up, which is pretty fun!!

Also, that drawing took me thirty or so minutes. My tools were quite archaic, alright?

I'd really like a game cartridge with Pokemon Blaze Black 2...

I'd be willing to pay real money for this, as long as there is video proof of it working on a 3DS XL updated to the latest version!

I would prefer a legit copy of Black 2 with the Blaze Black patched in somehow, just so Nintendo doesn't lose money. But if that's impossible, then I guess one illegal copy won't hurt Nintendo's whole market.

Volt White 2 Nuzlocke: Day 3, Part 3

Well. Brawly wiped me out.

I really should have expected that.

Should I carry on now that I've failed the challenge, or just let them be? Carry on as a regular playthrough? Decisions...

Volt White 2 Nuzlocke: Day 3 Part Two

First: casualties. We lost Hercules. I'm not as torn up over this as I would have been at one point; I was considering boxing him until I could easily evolve him, anyway, because even though he had some rad moves, they mean nothing with his stats being as bad as they were. I already had a stronger Water-type. But then Herc died. RIP, buddy.

In other news: Quilavas learn Extrasensory. I'm pretty sure this was an addition to Vole White and Blaze Black, but it is literally the best addition of my life. Not only could Gabriel smash through the Bugs like they were nothing, he could now smash through all the pure Poison guys too -- which is good, because there were nowhere near as many bugs in that Gym as I remembered. I probably just assumed everyone used Scolipede because come on, Scolipede.

Anyway, Gabriel pranced right through Roxie's Gym. I'm now procrastinating that godawful PokéStar Studios minigame.

Volt White Nuzlocke Days 2 and 3

Well, okay, part of day 3, because I'm going to keep playing today probably. If I don't get distracted by all the shit I bought on the Steam holiday sale.

I caught Hercules in Aspertia -- since I don't count gift Pokémon as my encounter for the area, I was able to fish for him. The item he's holding is an Exp. Share, but he actually has a pretty rad moveset (Reversal, Bubble, Bounce and Splash). When it was just him and Jude, the team had a serious problem with Bug- and Grass-types, so Bounce was very helpful.

In Virbank City, I received Gabriel as a gift and caught Lyssa. I named Gabriel such because I think he's gonna be my little saving grace when I fight Roxie; as mentioned, we have a problem with Bug-types, and Jude is weak to Poison. So I'm hoping my man Gabe will just run in there and incinerate everyone~ I'm excited for Lyssa too, because when she evolves she's going to turn into one of the most badass Water-types there is, Kingdra! So is Hercules, for that matter, but I love Water-types so the more the merrier. Helena I caught in the Virbank Complex. I've never actually put in the effort of raising a Linoone before, but at the very least, her Pickup will be nice because I am totally strapped for cash right now.

Now, before we continue, I want to tell you about a fantastic little Purrloin named Anita. She was a warrior, that one. She and Jude were totally a battle couple. Unfortunately, however, we lost her to a little shit known as Sewaddle. It nearly took out Jude too, but Hercules the Magikarp Bounced us out of there.

Offscreen, I beat Cheren's gym; I believe my team at the time was Jude and Anita. That's it. A Patrat named Libby came into the gym with us, but she died pretty early and I didn't care, because fuck Patrat. In any case, I was very impressed with the battle with Cheren -- for the first time in a long time, the Gym battle actually felt like it meant something, like there was a lot on the line and victory was not necessarily assured. Not just because Pokémon can die for good, but because Cheren's strategy was actually threatening this time. He kept using Work Up to beef his Poggermen to the level where a Tackle could raze my entire team. The only thing I could do was spam Sand Attack with Anita and buy a lot of Potions. But we got out alive. It was probably the most exhilarating Pokémon battle I've had in a while... very much necessary, since basically everything in Y was anti-climactic.

Anyway, we made Anita a burial pyre and sent her out to the gates of Valhalla. She earned it.

I'm now about to start grinding for Roxie -- who, coincidentally, is one of my favorite Unova Gym Leaders, if not my favorite period. Looking at all the new blood on my team, I'm feeling pretty confident. Let's gooooo.
