Tell me more about these dragons
@theload
The three dragons. On the center of each of their heads is eye which is surrounded by horns and crest. The placement of their headgear resembles the crowns human royalty used to wear. Their size and power are greater than the average Guardian.
Ryujin:Ryujin is a powerful Guardian. Her size alone is immense, with her serpentine body nearly a mile in length. She stands on four powerful legs, with the front most ones being longer and more powerful. Underneath her massive forelimbs are a smaller set of arms that are perfect for manipulating her surroundings. Her four, elderly eyes look down on others as though they are inferior. Her long tail is lined with pseudopods. Her wings are enormous, easily larger than her already huge body. Ryujin does not soar on giant skin membranes like any ordinary dragon. She flies via rocket propulsion (not unlike the Valfalk from Monster Hunter). Her body glows an ominous blood red.
Ryujin and her mate were the rulers of a powerful empire, but she had more power than her significant other due to being part of the royal lineage. The monarchy she was part of had built an empire using the power of Formaerem to force other civilizations into being indoctrinated. She had an entire family she loved with all her heart. A mate and two sons (one was really a hermaphrodite though). Eventually her eldest son, Yigg, got around that age where the parents make a right-of-passage ritual for the eldest child and find them a mate. While Ryujin and her mate were playing matchmaker, Yigg was already hitting it off with a girl. You can imagine her surprise when Yigg actually introduced this girl to them. Unfortunately when Ryujin asked where she was from, her response was not what she wanted… This girl that Yigg loves wasn’t a member of Ryujin’s empire, which meant she wasn’t good enough for Yigg. However this provided a perfect opportunity to make Yigg’s right-of-passage. If Yigg could indoctrinate the Guardian Society then Ryujin would allow Yigg and Coatlicue to be together.
This didn’t go very well…
Unfortunately not only did Yigg fail, he ended up starting a war. While this tore Yigg and Coatlicue apart, Ryujin and her mate were busy directing their army. The war only lasted for a few years before all hell broke loose. At the war’s peak Ryujin’s mate and one of her sons were killed. What was worse was that Coatlicue was the one who killed them. Without her mate to help her in battle, Ryujin lost her empire. Bitter over the death of her mate and child, she ordered Yigg to assassinate Coatlicue despite his protest. When Coatlicue was finally killed by Yigg, she ordered Yigg and the few remaining members of his legion to seek out a place to start anew. While Yigg and his subordinates live a nomadic lifestyle, Ryujin still rest on her throne in the ruins of her empire where she’s guarded by the Nightgaunts who patrolled her planet encompassing city.
Yigg:Yigg is a serpent-like Guardian. He has four rows of diamond shaped scutes that run along the length of his back, with his largest two scutes being in his shoulder region. Yigg has cluster of scutes on his head that resemble a crown. In the center of his “crown” Yigg has a large eye that signifies his royalty. He has four eyes and many large fangs that fold back when he closes his mouth. His body is lined with sharp overlapping scales. Along his body are scaleless groves that release access heat, and have a light blue luminescent glow. The spaces between his scales also give off the same light blue luminescent glow. Aidan says that he looks like Dalamadur from the Monster Hunter franchise, just with more limbs and eyes. Robby describes Yig’s voice as something between Jeremy Irons, Smaug from The Hobbit, and the Lord of Darkness from Legend (and many agree with him).
At a young age he was taught how to fight and kill all who stood in his way of total domination, as it is customary for the prince to learn these skills at a young age especially since he will one day be the new ruler. After he grew into sexual maturity he met Coatlicue, who’m he fell in love and formed a relationship with. Eventually Yigg got Coatlicue pregnant. Yigg’s mother, Ryujin, was unaware of his relationship and was still trying to find a suitable mate for him. Yigg tried to introduce Ryujin to Coatlicue but his mother would not allow him to have a mate who was from a society that was not under her rule. Ryujin told him that if he could indoctrinate the Guardian Society then she would let them be together. It was also what she chose to be his coming-of-age ritual to be, since he had yet to become an official adult in her eyes. Doing this would also make him the new ruler. So Yigg tried to indoctrinate the Guardian Society, but he was unable to. The Guardian Society on the other hand had not only just learned that there’s a government that was harmful to its citizens and was borderline corrupt, but that Formaerem was being used to harm others. Immediately they declared war, and Yigg and Coatlicue were torn apart. Now that they were enemies they couldn’t be together. Yigg was forced to help his parents lead the charge against their enemies, while Coatlicue was struggling to serve the Guardian Society’s military whilst hiding her pregnancy. Eventually Coatlicue ended up killing Yigg’s father and brother. This enraged Ryujin to the point where she ordered him to assassinate his former lover.
And he did.she was giving birth to their daughter, Voltiyig.
Eventually Ryujin’s empire fell without the help of her mate. Now Ryujin, Yigg, and a few subordinates are all that remains. Nowadays Ryujin rest in the center of her fallen empire while Yigg is out trying to form his own empire. She passed leadership down to Yigg, although that title is now useless. Yigg deeply regrets killing Coatlicue. He numbs the emotional pain by having intercourse with his subordinates.
Voltiyig :Voltiyig is the daughter of Yigg. She’s a Guardian who’s design I’m not 100% certain with yet. She’ll definitely be very snake-like and have six limbs, two of which are wings. She too has the eye and horn crown. She also visited Aidan and Robby’s home universe and even briefly appeared on earth a few thousand years ago. She briefly interacted with humans, but that lead to them worshiping her and calling her Quetzalcoatl despite her protests to not worship her as a god. Her “feathers” are actually highly modified and elongated scales, and look nothing like feathers. She’s a very kind member of the Guardian Society and she’s kind of a maternal figure for some of the characters (whether they like it or not because she sometimes babies them).
But there’s a reason for this.
When Yigg killed Coatlicue while she was giving birth to Voltiyig, he didn’t completely rip Coatlicue’s infinity cell out of her body when he destroyed it. Infinity cells are the heart of a Guardian, and it’s where the Formaerem levels in a Guardian’s body is the highest. Infinity cells, besides being a heart, are also responsible for storing a Guardian’s energy and have a copy of a Guardian’s genetic code and memories. So when Yigg destroyed Coatlicue’s infinity cell while it was still attached to her body, all those memories went straight to Voltiyig. Which technically makes Voltiyig her own mother and daughter at the same time. She also really doesn’t like Yigg. In fact she hates him.
