voltron +dogs pt4: keith

- Keith usually has some scraggy mutt in headcanons but? nope

- this fucker has a samoyed and no one can stop me

- let keith have the fluffiest dog 2k18

- her name is Shiloh and she smiles he swears!

- she will just flop on top of him the second he’s no longer standing

- no need for a blanket when you have a samoyed!

- she’s very good for when he’s feeling lonely because she’ll lay on his chest and her nose will almost be touching his and he can just look in her eyes and feel loved

- and he knows she won’t abandon him

- they need each other

- she was his only companion when he was living in his shack in the desert

- even if he didn’t have the means to shower himself or do his laundry, he kept her clean and well fed. she added routine and purpose to his earthly life, even when finding shiro and investigating the blue lion energy seemed overwhelming and impossible

- she has bright blue eyes that reminded him of the golden skinned boy at the garrison who was loud and happy and far too cute for keith to handle and he would often stare at her and ask her “why do you have to have his eyes?” but she would just bark quietly and give him kisses

Lance and his chocolate lab!

I said a while ago that I’ve been thinking about the Voltron characters and what kind of dogs they would have... I really like dogs.

So here is Lance with his chocolate lab, Lola. They are a ride or die pair and it’s pretty impossible to find one at the beach without the other. Lola is the “family dog”, but it’s become pretty apparent that Lance has basically claimed her as his. 

She likes swimming, sleeping on beds, and kissing new friends on the mouth.

voltron +dogs pt7: coran

- coran got a dog during a stop on earth

- his name is weblum and he’s a chinese crested. coran liked him because he didn’t look like the other dogs

- he seemed very unique and otherwordly compared to the other dogs

- coran knits him sweaters!! he has one for every day of the week and they’re all in different colours and have a big W on the back

- weblum sits on coran’s head?? for some ?? reason???

- (coran seems to be able to communicate with him on a scarily deep level compared to the other paladins/dogs)

- he also has seasonal wardrobes, holiday fashion, and formal wear. because coran brings him to every diplomatic meeting and ball and dinner

- weblum is best friends with hunk’s dog honey

- weblum takes care of all the paladins and all their dogs. he checks on them and does rounds of the halls with coran. they walk in silence but anyone who sees them can tell they’re communicating on a deeper level while they walk. they make turns at the exact same time and stop together, or will look in the same direction in the same second

voltron +dogs pt3: hunk

-  hunk has the smallest dog he could find!!! she’s a tiny, extremely fluffy pomeranian named Honey and she is the light of his life

-  she’s a sweet golden colour and sometimes he calls her his little marshmallow because she’s the colour of a perfectly roasted marshmallow

- he carries her like she’s a baby and she loves it

-  she is the most spoiled voltron dog for sure

- when he’s picking up cooking supplies she carries a little basket full of all the food and prances around behind him

- she weaves around his feet while he’s cooking and uses her basket to put away things he’s done with/bring him things he needs

- she wears little boots!! her paws get sensitive sometimes so she wears slippers around the castle and boots outside and they’re soft pink and soft orange and she’s so spoiled that if she doesn’t have her boots on she just flops onto her back and sticks her legs in the air and waits until someone puts her boots on!

- she is incredibly calm even if the other dogs are getting excited, she may be small but she has a really good handle on the other dogs and if they’re getting too loud she manages to reign them in very well

voltron +dogs pt5: pidge

- pidge canonically has a bull terrier named  bae-bae so here’s some feelings about that

- kathleen had originally wanted a ‘prettier’ dog

- but pidge was dead set on the small, underweight bull terrior who’d been stuck at the pound for a while

- bae bae (beeb for short) never leaves pidges side

-especially after sam and matt go missing

- he’s always with her and when she cries because her dad and brother might be dead he tucks himself under her chin and she holds him while she cries and he stays there until the moment has passed

- he sleeps in her bed no matter what, she could have the flu but he doesn’t care. he lays down beside her and rests his chin on her stomach and the second it seems like she might be having a nightmare he gently crawls up towards her face and licks her cheek soothingly

- once pidge ends up in space, kathleen finally starts to appreciate the dog she never wanted

- he’s all she has left of pidge and brings her comfort when she needs it

- now that His Girl is gone, he needs someone to rescue from the nightmares so he resumes his calming rituals but now he’s in kathleens bed instead of pidge’s

- once the war is over and the paladins can make trips back to earth, pidge is ready to bring her dog with her but. he’s too important to kathleen now, especially since voltron is still defending the universe from time to time

- so pidge gets another dog to bring with her onto the ship because all her friends have dogs and she needs one too!! 

- he’s a schipperke and his name is Gregory

- he rests his head on her lap while she codes and she talks to him to work out coding issues she’s having. he’s a very good listener and his extremely human name makes her feel better about talking to him

voltron +dogs pt2: shiro

-  his name is muffet (muffy for short) and he’s albino!! which unfortunately due to genetics means a few disabilities but?? he’s perfect to shiro

-  he can’t hear at all really, unless it’s a really vibraty low sound

-  and he can kinda see? like shapes and some depth are there

- but he’s so happy anyways

- he doesn’t know he’s missing anything and shiro loves him so he is a happy boy!

- he’s still pretty young so he has yet to grow into his feet(they are large)and his ears are very floppy

- and he gives shiro the best cuddles

- and he may be deaf and partially blind but he knows when shiro is having A Moment and he is just. in his lap. within seconds

- and he’ll sit there and thump his tail against shiro or lick his face until he comes back to reality

-  and he gets excited and will wiggle his whole body sometimes

voltron +dogs pt6: allura

- her dog is a japanese spitz named Altea, Ali for short

- she is absolutely the perfect dog for the princess

- she can be stern with the other space dogs, but also plays with them and is kind with them

- but most of all she keeps allura grounded. being the queen of a dead race is pretty stressfull but a fluffy white dog rubbing against your legs helps a lot

- ali was the first dog to play with one of the lions, even though she was one of the latest additions to the family

- surprisingly, the first lion to play with her or any of the dogs was the black lion, who was spotted carrying her (and later the whole herd of dogs) around the hangar in her giant mouth

- the other lions mostly wave their tails around for ali and the pups to chase but sometimes ali manages to rope them into rides like black gives

- all of the dogs have connections with the lions, but ali’s is the strongest and she communicates with them about taking care of the paladins and altean magic and stuff so she’s a really smart dog and knows all the best ways to help allura

- she has a custom tiara 

- she hangs out with the mice

- she has tiny dog sized furniture because she’s a princess and sometimes the other dogs try to share her furniture but. she kicks them off because she doesn’t share her couch with anyone (except her future puppies!!)
