I think there's going to be a Shiro-Keith-Allura (Sheithllura?) love triangle. The Shallura moments were just too undeniable but theres no ignoring Kallura bc of DotU. Or maybe if they have Princess Romelle around, it's going to be a Shalluramelle love triangle. I've been thinking of this for a while but I dont wanna get hate from shippers so I'm anonymously messaging Shallura stans. 😁😁😁

Thanks for the message! I’m kinda tickled pink about being asked my opinion on this.

I have actually thought about a Shiro-Keith-Allura triangle before, but I’ve decided to look at it as - trust the EPs. The show has really been outstanding - plot and character development exceptional. No matter how the story and relationships unfold, I’m sure we’ll enjoy it.

Plus, the EPs have routinely said they are not “beholden” to the original show, so I’m not even sure who will show up in VLD. After all, I don’t believe the Blade of Marmora was in the original show (nor was Sam and Matt Holt), and they deleted Nanny altogether (thank God!). So Romelle may not even be part of this. (I think she will be, but we really don’t know at this point.)

I’m also pretty sure Lotor will add drama to this, too! So lots of exciting things coming up, and I wouldn’t worry too much. I think if relationships do develop, they’ll be handled well.

(On a personal note, I hope the EPs don’t do a Shiro-Allura-Keith love triangle. I love Shiro and Keith’s relationship, however it is determined - BROTP, OTP, etc. - and if they fight, especially over Allura, that would kill me. I routinely skip the scenes/episodes where Allura is mean to Keith, so likewise, I would skip those. Plus, ultimately while I love Sh/allura, as long as everyone is happy and Keith and Shiro are “together” in the sense, I’m good, whether that’s K/allura, Sh/allura, Sh/eith, etc.)

how i want the characters to end up in terms of romance

lance- ok, go ahead and attack me but i think itd do wonders for his story arc if he ended up single or at least with someone unexpected. hes always been kinda a prop and if he ended up single it would change his whole 'loverboy whos always crushing or in a relationship' thing idk (i mean id like him to end up with keith but ive given up hope so)

hunk- for the love of jesus let him end up in a genuine and loving relationship. and not just outta the blue "oh theyre in a relationship now," but with context and a backstory cause they never give him context or a backstory *cough cough* l a u r e n

pidge- i dont really know or care for her. it would be fine if she ended up either way. her story is kinda completed. she found her brother, which was her main goal throughout the series, and she might see her dad and mom on earth. so no matter what, her story would be pretty much the same. (although it would be hecka cute to see pidge in a relationship im just sayin)

keith- i would like to see him in a relationship with someone? but at the same time i dont really care tbh i just want him to be happy. but it would be refreshing to see him in a relationship with someone he genuinely loves and kinda cute

shiro- idk or really care but someone who genuinely cares about him and supports him?? a partner who actually loves him and makes him feel better? i think id like to see shiro have romance in his life but either way is cool. it would be nice to see him being loved and cared for

allura- yeah? i think id like to see allura in a relationship that isnt with lance and not cause im an allurance anti or whatever its totally cool if you ship it but? it would be great for lances development and help him come to terms with the fact him and allura probably wont happen idk

coran- YES. I NEED CORAN IN A RELATIONSHIP. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD @ voltron writers gimme a good coran relationship stat it would be so hilarious

matt- YES PLEASE?? id. id like that

slav- honestly i would be lmaoing all over the room if he was in a relationship pls lauren animate this

@dynared We have four more seasons (with the potential of two additional seasons), so lots of time for character development/angst. :)

Plus, I know there have been cues/testimonials from the show about Shiro not being with the Paladins and Allura stepping in, but all marketing materials still label him as the Black Paladin (from toys to apps, etc). Allura isn’t even getting an action figure. (I’m still mad about that!)

So I’m not sure how long he’ll be off with Matt (if the picture is real). We’ll see!
