Update of Season 7
My brother (a casual viewer who btw still loved the show and pays attention) asked if Adam was Shiro brother????
I had conflicted feelings because 1: it was not explicit enough that Shiro was gay (which is so unfortunate and it DID need to be more clear but that was becuase of MANY things that I will not be discussing today),
And 2: it proves the point of many people that to casual viewers that are not super mega updated on every single interview or fandom interaction, know the “importance” of Adam or the “queerbaiting” the show was claim on doing but, here’s my point: Adam did NOT came here to stay, he was not that important, he barely had screentime and he was forgotten, but not because of the queerbaiting, but because of war and circumstance.
I do think it’s SO unfortunate that we didn’t get enough on that and I really hope Season 8 would improve on that. We have no idea what’s gonna happen but I’m concerned because if that was it... that’d be....disappointing to say the least.
Unpopular opinion
This season was nuts, but SO incredible. Might just be my favorite yet. A few things I'd like to address as a fan that's pleasantly surprised and satisfied with things that this fandom is taking WAY too obnoxiously. 1. Guys, this show is COMPLETE fiction. If it bothers you that the story didn't go the way you hoped or were expecting it to, that's fine, but seriously if you have enough time on your hands to attack or even spam the cast, crew, and writers of a cartoon, then please take some time away from the internet and get over yourself. 2. Keith being "OOC" this season was desperately needed character development and I'm so proud and happy for him coming out of his shell and using what he's learned as the leader to support and comfort hunk. Speaking of 3. Hunk and Lance got SO much development this season. It was so well executed that I almost don't need to say anything else. Hunk what praised left and right for his courage despite having fear, and his will to help others. Lance and his love for his family, especially after being reunited with them was so heart warming and honestly really added to his character after him missing his family for 6 seasons. And finally, the thing everyone's talking about 4. Shiro is still gay. That hasn't changed simply because his ex died. I also don't believe that we were let down at all because the crew never promised us romance for Shiro. It was clearly stated (careful word choice too) that Shiro and Adam HAD a beautiful relationship before he left for Kerberos. They don't HAVE a relationship, nor was it promised that he would. Adam was simply a part of Shiro's back story that helped him become who he is today. Also, y'all can't miss the look Shiro gave Adam's name on the memorial. He looked sad yes, for how it ended, but I think in a way it gave Shiro more respect for Adam after the way they ended their relationship on kinda bad terms. Not saying it was the best possible choice of course, but I actually was pleasantly surprised that they chose to empower Shiro as a single (like he's always been this series), gay captain who is in charge of the atlas, the most advanced aircraft/altean technology on Earth. 5. In conclusion, I loved this season and I'm so happy for all the heterosexual ships that are becoming canon and I loved this season so much. Again this is just my unpopular opinion so don't attack me or anything. Your feelings are valid if you're a little upset, so my opinion of loving this season is more than okay. Just don't waste time trying to tear down the voice actors, writers, and crew for something that's literally not going to change at all no matter how you feel about it. Season 7 was a masterpiece that everyone on this show poured their hearts into, and I loved watching every single episode of the 13 we we're blessed with. Thank you everyone for your hard work, and I represent the 1% of the fandom that loves season 7❤
